Base Bronco with Sasquatch it gives people the offload capabilities they want without all the fluff. You are correct the base Rubicon would still have the sway disconnect that the Base Sasquatch would not.
Correct the Badlands has most of the Sasquatch on it standard.
The videos of the defender and Sasquach bronco rock crawling should solidify downside of IFS For everyone. Those 50-60k things scraped and dragged themselves over every rock and gap. (Oh but it didn't have a lot of lift on it) yea good luck lifting IFS. We lifted my bro inlaws blazer 6 inches and had to cut and weld a new sub section In the front. Sure it looked good when done but way more of a fiasco than just swapping out coils. the bronco Its going to have nice on road manners tho.

The neighbor a few doors down has been driving the bronco sport for the past month (camouflaged/then unwrapped after the reveal) and its definitely as big as the Cherokee. I actually mistakenly thought it was the full size while it was still in camo.
Cool! Yea, the overall profile does look like the full-size Bronco, especially the 4-door. Could be a solid choice for a lot of people that don't really need the capability of the full size and probably save 5k or so in the process.

So do a million other vehicles on the market.

Bronco is primarily an “image vehicle” with cool styling, and some off-road chops thrown in if necessary to backup its pretenses.

Wrangler is an off-road vehicle built for that purpose from the ground up.

There was a TFL video out there comparing the off-road capability of a base Bronco to a base Wrangler, and it was NO competition. That gets this point loud and clear, IMO.

Having said that, none of this will stop some Bronco owners from putting 6-inch lifts and 37” tires, at great expense and difficulty, to drive to the mall. And for many buyers, that’s the whole point.

Would anyone want to drive that thing? Probably not...

I guess FCA definitely considers the Bronco a competitor or a potential threat.

Not sure if this has been posted? Jeep dealers are getting marketing info or dealers are putting together documents on how to compare the Wrangler with Bronco. Basically shows the advantages of a Wrangler.

hmm..well the only other reason would be that the Base Bronco "is supposed" to be much less than the Badlands. My thinking was that based on price-points (which we don't 100% know for sure), Base Badlands would be $ for $ around the same price and have almost the same features as a Rubicon. We can't really compare Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch because we're now comparing 35" (Sasquatch) to 33" on the Rubicon. It is irrelevant really, we could compare say Base Bronco to Wrangler Sport (correct me, but I think that would be fair comparison -- I know it's sorta the no-frills Wrangler)...

However, if we based everything on looks, I know it's subjective, but I personally like the Base Bronco the best. It's the only one that actually locks in the look of the original front grill.

Yea, it's basically their Cherokee Trailhawk from what I can tell, and looks like all you could want if you're a big overlander. Most of the Youtube people keep comparing it to the Compass Trailhawk, though, which I find odd because I don't believe the Compass has an electronic locker and nearly the same clearance and angles, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the Bronco Sport is closer in overall dimensions to a Compass than a Cherokee, I don't know, but in terms of the off-road capability it seems similar to the Cherokee. I don't believe you can even get a Bronco Sport without 4x4.
Hmm, perhaps, it is after all based off the Escape, which is now a tiny car (compare to what it used to be). Might very well be the dimensions of a Compass.

I thought Trailhawk was the 120k Cherokee ...or am I thinking of something else?

well...i just saw Jared's pic and he said approx same size as Cherokee, so I retract that. I don't think the Escape chassis is modular like VW's chassis, I don't know though.

Silver lining to all this is -
An arms race between FCa and Ford
More negotiation latitude at dealerships. (Even if youre not going to buy a ford, you can at least pretend during negotiation)
Will probably tighten pricing and incentives if Jeep falls behind. If you want a wrangler or JT i recon when bronco comes out , that will be the time to go
To jeep dealerships to score a good deal.

Trailhawk is just the off-road trim of the Cherokee, Renegade, and Compass. Gives you the tow hooks, more clearance, underbody protection, etc. And I think on the Cherokee it gives you a rear locker.

They were able to drive one?
No. They compared specs, prices and content.

Base Bronco and Wrangler start at roughly the same price, but Wrangler already comes with greater ground clearance, better departure, approach and break over angles, greater articulation, a V6 with almost 300 HP, 31” tires and a solid front axle.

Trailhawks also add that fancy terrain selector, and a fake crawl mode. On Grand Cherokee, it also includes the air suspension, 18” GY Adventure ATs and seats with increased bolstering.

Jeep Wrangler JL Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread 1598200235637

A long time ago I saw a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk crawl its way up this fairly difficult obstacle course at Hungry Valley OHV Park in California. It was painful to watch the Cherokee struggle, groan, scrape and spin its tires in the air, but it was also very impressive to see a vehicle like that be able to do it. It gave me a lot of respect for what Jeep is able to achieve with electronics.

Gotcha. What does Base Bronco come with that a base Wrangler doesn't? A/C, power windows, safety tech, etc. I'm assuming? Bigger screen, maybe?

I can show a 2 dr JL lifted and on 35 dragging on the rubicon as well. I’m guessing that why thousands of lifts are sold for the JL every year. Shocking....

My point was that a Base Bronco with Sasquatch should be much cheaper than a no option Rubicon(I think they start out at $43k in 2020). However once the Sasquatch is added I think the price will be closer than many believe.
