How do you drive the Jeep and what kind of trails do you run? What size tires? What engine and trans?

Did you do anything to beef up the housing like a truss?

What symptoms did you experience before taking it in for repairs?

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
Just know, I broke the teeth off three set of gear in a rear Dana 44. Running 5.13 gears, 37 in tires with a bunch off roading and trailer towing. The Dana 44 just did not stand up to my intended use.

Have him check the spider gears. If they're broken, they could have caused the carnage in the ring gear.

Jeep guy called me today with this Pic. Says he only sees a few a year..from hard wheelers. What do you all think? This is the front Spicer 4.88 gears i had installed 20k miles ago before 18 BoH trails.

Set-up looks ok.

This is likely from bouncing a few too many times.

That gear deflection is a real thing. Lol. Looks like a normal failure to me.

Only thing to check would be the pinion preload to see if it was walking a little bit.

If the pinion is loose, then that's the problem. Otherwise, on first look with one pic... looks normal for an abused Dana 44.

I has been used well. Going with a different brand this time.. Revolution kit
Did you break them in Florida?

Which trail did they start making noise on?
Any particular obstacle you were trying?

I won't install Revolution gears anymore. Some people like them, but they have given me the most install headaches than any other brand.

My advice has always been Dana Parts for Dana axles. Then get them polished if you have the time and extra cash.

No I probably broke it out west last year. Had them installed and then ran 18 BoH trails including rubicon. I tried not to bounce but from now on I'll be paying more attention and also using lockers less. My installer does both Dana and Rev. I went with Rev this time as these are Dana and broke.

I'm out here in Pueblo West, CO right off Hwy 50 if you're ever out here and need help.

I went from living in NC and calling this "Out West", too. Then I moved... now it's just Afghanistan with a Walmart. Lol.

Yeah, there's a reason Pueblo is a cheaper place to live than the rest of the front range...

For sure! Lol.

Pueblo West isn't so bad, I suppose. 30 min West and you're back in the Mountains with the Arkansas river, but Pueblo is certainly in a dust bowl down here.
