backup camera suddenly stopped working

I bought my 2018 Jeep Wrangler last week and within the second day of owning it, the backup camera wouldn't work when put in reverse. Ever since then, the camera works on and off. There has to be a fix for this by now right?

Still happens every now and then. It happened to me again today lines disappeared and came back few hours later after parking the vehicle.

Is there no fix to this? I just bought my jeep a week ago and it happens everyday....kinda ridiculous for all the $$$ i paid for. Did my research prior to getting the car, but apparently not good enough

I had same issue on my new Jeep. About 250 miles in. Camera wouldn’t work for half a day. Next day it worked. Strange. Frustrating!

After 9 months of owenership, I finally have gotten this issue today. I wish I could just reset the Uconnect or software system myself.

I haven't needed it yet, but I found it after my camera had blacked out and fixed itself. Next time...

Thanks. Tried to reset based on the first post but it didn’t work. Few hours later my camera came back on though.

Although the backup screen came up, I now have a new screen issue. This is the most issues I’ve had with the sceeen since I’ve gotten the car.

Update 3: now my radio sound didn’t work today.

This thing keeps having issues.

I continue to have random issues with partial uConnect functionality including the backup camera. Only a reset (pulling F97 fuse) will fix it. Someone mentioned shifting into gear before uConnect fully boots may be the cause. I’m going to wait until the system boots before shifting from now on and hope FCA gets a software update to us.

The one and only time it happened to me, I was in a hurry and immediately threw it into reverse after starting it. So I'd believe it.

Happened to me for the first time this morning too.

Just happened to me this morning, worked fine yesterday, guess I’ll wait and see if it corrects it’s self. Bran new 3K miles

Oh boy, my camera wasn't working yesterday afternoon and I came here tonight to look for a culprit only to find out that FCA has no clue why this is happening....I checked my fuses just now and 80% were not seated snugly so I rectified that. I am assuming the blanks on the fuse box cover denote spare fuses. Camera is working now but will run it by the dealer just to get it on file.

I honestly am amazed NHTSA hasn't forced a recall for this yet.

This isn't just a cool to have option, it's a federally mandated safety feature.
