Anyone else have a backup camera that doesn't work at night? All I get is static. Been that way since day one, after 20K miles I finally brought it in. I suspect it's a known problem because Jeep has a TSB that basically says the dealer shouldn't do anything unless it is throwing codes or total back screen. To me, that means they know there is a problem but don't want to pay to replace the camera (I say "they" meaning Chrysler, not the dealer). This is my 5th or 6th JLU , camera has never been an issue at night before.

They refuse to do anything unless it's a black screen??? I'm fairly confident someone on these forums would know how to make that happen w/o being detected. Hopefully.

Yes, either black screen or the camera reporting error codes. The service manager read me the TSB/directive language from Chrysler, which to me it read like they are aware of the problem.

The federal requirements for backup cameras are pretty stringent. Including the following for your situation:
3. Response Time:
• The camera image must display within 2 seconds of the vehicle being put into reverse gear.
4. Image Requirements:
• Minimum resolution and image size to ensure clarity.
• The system must perform effectively in low-light conditions.

I would take it back and cite this or talk to @JeepCares, they can’t get away with requiring a black screen to fix it.
