Well, I guess us with the 2 door and this problem still have no fix. They updated my box to the AD last year, done the track bar and damper, and I still have the play. I can't get the dealer to install the AE box. You can see when you have someone move the wheel there is movement in the shaft...
My 2 Door Rubicon has been to the dealer 4 times now for play in the steering wheel, 1st time they did the track bar weld recall and "adjusted the steering" left me with an offset steering wheel to the right.
2nd time I went in to have them fix the wheel and they decided to replace the steering...
I finally have mine back after about 5 weeks at the dealer.
Few sets of photos to Chrysler then had wait for them to send the welding tech in. (also has the steering gear box replaced while it was there)
Before
After re-weld
I was told after my earlier post to get a better shot of my welds
My dealer set an appointment up for me in 3 weeks, in hopes that they will know what to do by that time.
Well I am not sure how I feel about this, the weld is ugly and seems very rushed. I assume it's better than having a totally missed weld. I wonder if Jeep will be addressing ones like this under the inspect and repair or is this the final fix for me?...I'll be sending rusty some money soon I think.
Checked mine today when I found out that it was on the list for repair and the dealer had no idea about it.
Looks like they let a 4 year old with fix mine at the factory or something, these welds are terrible
You can see the factory weld that appears to have missed the seam and this was how...
