backup camera suddenly stopped working

Tried to schedule appointment to check out the camera not working and was told it is a known issue and not to schedule an appointment or bring it in.

Said to call back in 3 weeks to see if the software update for this fix is out yet.

If this is the case I would imagine there would be a lot of other people with this problem??

Hi Darlene i just got the jeep last month and the back up camera is driving my wife insane. Everyday its working in and out.

How can i get this fix

update, called back again last Friday and a different service advisor told me they weren't aware of an issue and to bring it in to check out... soonest Available is this Friday. And was told no loaner car unless parts are ordered...

Experienced the same issue with the camera going in and out daily. Contacted our sales guy who scheduled us an appointment with the service department. When we dropped it off, they said it was not a widely known issue, but they'd take a look. He hooked us up with a loaner, ended up ordering a new camera, and now everything is groovy again.

My stopped working this evening...but my screen is NOT blue. The screen is black/grayed out with an 'x' in the upper right hand corner. Will be contacting the dealer
@JeepCares mark this as another instance of the back up camera fail. Can I get a case number to take to the dealer to get this solution started? I already checked for physical problems and there are none. I already know the dealer will be clueless to what is wrong. They will physically inspect everything and then check for and run a software update. FInally, they will need a part list from you guys to know what to order.

finally was able to bring the jeep in for the camera not working after being falsely told that they were waiting on a software update fix. Around a month and a half of time has passed so far

First trip was told the camera had to be replaced to had to order it, pick up jeep again and wait a week for part to come in

Brought it back and now told the camera didn't fix it and that the whole wiring harness from the rear has to be replaced

So the fun begins with taking apart all the trim and possibly dash on a brand new vehicle, already have broken clips and loose panels on the passenger side door sill plastics i'm sure will take even more time to order and get replaced

Mine was flashed 6-18-18. Since then, no black screens and no random reboots.

@JeepCares I'm more curious why you want to respond to private messages only. It's as if you would rather hush us quietly in our own private room rather than dealing with the REAL issue in front of all of us that are having the SAME issue!!!! Each case is NOT different so I don't want to hear that. We all have radio/camera problems. How about you all come up with a fix for this and be done with it. We have already isolated the problem for you, you know what the issue is.

Command Line RC you are point on! The CUSTOMER (s) are identifying the issue/problem so you would think the SELLER would come up with the fix. Guess there are so many issues "popping" up hard for them to keep up!
