backup camera suddenly stopped working

I noticed when you start the Jeep and then after a couple of second you shut it off, that when the camera issue occurs.
It seems i doesn't have enough time to load up the software so the camera crashes.
It will reset itself once you shut off the engine and return after some time
Just my observation.

Just had this happen to me today. Started it up to go to work was in a hurry, threw it in reverse to back out of the garage real quick before the the Uconnect screen loaded and the backup camera wouldnā€™t come on. Attempted to try to turn the camera on through the app and nothing. When I got to work and shut it off I noticed the screen stayed backlit for a while. It sat for over an hour and I went back out and all was fine. I guess it reset itself. Hopefully this is fixed in the update.

Mine isnā€™t working now either. App button doesnā€™t work either.

Come on Jeep...give it back along with the off road pages push...

Took mine into the dealership last week for the third time to address the green screen I get when shifting into reverse and service tech was able to verify problem but there is not fix or TSB to repair so they opened a Star case.

I just experienced this on mine today. Took delivery the beginning of July. No issues whatsoever since, and then this afternoon when leaving work, my reverse camera screen was completely black. Hopefully the comments by others that it self-resolves will prove to be true in my case, as well. I really donā€™t want to make a dealer visit for service this week (or weekend).

How can I just make the blue screen go away when I'm backing up? My blue screen has been happening for months. I don't need a back up camera, but how do I stop the blue screen from coming on? I obviously have a short somewhere or connection issue as my brake light randomly works, same for turn signal. Anytime I try to bring it in, it either resolves it self by the time I get there or it's not there when the dealer goes to work on it. Fun stuff.

Now I had this issue too only 600miles. Not even a month old. Started it and stopped it still Bluescreen and no back up camera. Something is clearly wrong here. Is anyone looking at options to motivate Jeep to acknowledge the problem and issue a recall once a fix can be determined?

Remote started the Jeep this morning and when I got in to leave, black screen on the backup camera. The app for the camera has same result. I tried to turn off and restart a few times with no luck. Will try after a few hours and see. I haven't even rolled 1000 miles yet.

I had the same experience on mine as well. This was around 600 miles. Maybe they will have a software update to correct the issue?

My backup stopped working suddenly also. I had the black screen. I tried turning the car off and restarting it several times. No luck. It started working again today (the next morning). I just got the vehicle in August and only have about 1000 miles on it.

VIN says "Up to date" when checked. Is there a way to have a service bulletin for the dealer? This happens randomly so chances are when we take the Jeep to the dealer it won't be occurring.

Add us to the list- the camera worked when we backed out at home, then less than hour later it was black screen the next time in reverse. Tried on and off a few times, them drove to another stop, parked and waited a while but it still doesn't work. Our Rubicon is all of 6 days old with less than 200 miles.
