you don't have to remove the Aux, just do the "jumperless Aux battery bypass."
you pull fuse 42 and remove the Aux negative cable (tape away out of trouble). Your Aux is now out of the loop and will use the main battery only.

And your dealer is wrong to tell you you don't drive enough. Jeep just designed a dual battery system with inadequate system control and charging conditions. Driving a lot of miles, and often, probably prevents it because there's enough charging time to make up for their design inadequacy. But your driving is not the issue. Their design is the issue.
Yeah, I had a bunch of big ideas, leave it in and bypass it, or wire it so I could use it as a back up, or was thinking I’d run some different thinks off of it like when camping, yeah, so, none of that happened….I just yanked it out and am using 1 battery as God intended…… ?

If your 2020 is on OEM batteries, you need new ones ASAP. Only the main if you're going to do the bypass.

I just disconnected the cable, the little thing is still hidden down in there somewhere. This has worked fine for over 2 years.

Yeah, the bypass works great, I just wanted it out of there, lol, I’m still trying to figure out what I could use the cubby for, lol…I have gutted fenders and aftermarket inners, so it only took me 2 minutes to get it out ……:)

would that aux battery box fit the ARB air tank? Not the compressor, just the aluminum air tank?

I’m not sure, I’ll have to measure how much room is in there…. Not sure how big the tank is you’re talking about…… iirc the cubby is not much bigger than the battery….

The advantage of the diesel is that it's easy to completely remove the aux battery. It's accessible after removing the main.

Currently I think when I get it back Im going to do the bypass and leave it for now.
In time I will want to get rid of it and remove it down the road.

So I am no expert here but I think service on this is BS
By profession Im an electrician. Work on residential homes as a service tech in troubleshooting.

I just got a call that the Jeep is all done. Charged batteries and passed test. Start stop did not work and cleared DTC and all good.

In what world would that be a good test method. They charged the batteries before the test ? Then when a system didn't work they cleared the codes all good?

I get they don't get paid squat for warranty work but come on. I asked about parasitic draw tests and any other information the service writer could give me. He said he would find out.
So no replacement of either battery.

I was told once again I don't drive the vehicle enough for the alternator to charge the battery.

I asked why in the first 2 1/2 years I was good but in the last 6 months this is now an issue. No reply.

I have a 2021 I bought in oct of 2020. Be prepared to go back to dealer again in a month or two. My dealer charged my battery and said everything tests fine and if it happens again let us know. About 6 weeks later battery is dead and then the dealer replaced battery after it failed tests. I tried to get them to replace the first time but it seems they have to make you jump the hoops so it’s covered by warranty. Luckily my dealer is pretty close to home…

The exact wording to the T on when I picked it up earlier.
If it happened again bring it back. I told them warranty up in 2 weeks. He said its been noted so we will see.
It passed all of their tests.
The test was explained as a tester. The tester checks battery. Charges battery for 7 mins then checks the battery again. If it passes the test it charges battery to full. At intervals the battery is checked throughout the process. If at any point the battery fails an interval test it pops up a warranty code to which the dealership can file for payment.
I was again told over the phone that I don't drive it enough. I told him I don't buy that BS. No issues with y driving distance for 2 1/2 years. Now in 6 months twice in the shop for battery.

At a dealership for a battery(s) thing, it is wise to ask to talk to the Service Manager... again talk to the Service Manager and not the Service Writer.

Politely ask that he/she have the Tech, load test each of your batteries and to provide you with a printout of each of the 2 load tests.

IF either battery fails the load test, then indeed you have an iffy battery or iffy 2 batteries and you can get the dealer to replace under warranty.

The load testing takes a couple of hrs. of shop time, so very often they will not do proper load testing, but say they did or not even mention load testing to you.

IF you do not see the load tests printouts you cannot be sure they actually did do load testing..
