Be happy you didn't buy a Bronco, I hear even their "premium" Bose system is garbage... :CWL: :CWL: :CWL:
Had the premium Bose system in a Mazda and while far from perfect, it just sounded a lot cleaner and more tonally balanced than the Wrangler's premium Alpine system imo. Probably a lot to do with better speaker placement and a significantly quieter cabin (Wrangler isn't as bad as I was expecting, but the sharp angles of the hardtop and interior certainly aren't helping anything). Usually not a fan of Bose home audio gear, but this setup really wasn't too bad for a stock system.

Thanks all for the feedback (no pun intended). You've given me some settings to try. As for XM, I like the variety and the fact that it's currently free with my new Jeep. When it comes time to start paying for it, I'll likely live with local HD radio channels and my iPhone. I have too many subscriptions sucking the life out of me as it is...

exactly which song I use, great base licks, perfect highs.

On a related note, no pun intended, I am researching getting into a digital walkman, the 600 to couple thousand variety. Getting tired of the all music all the time Serious, turning into the DJ has a chance to talk for 5 minutes between songs. not why I pay for the subscription.

Btw btw, while I use the XM, i use the phone with BT to the radio so I can select quality of download. Jeep XM sounds like a tin can and a string.

Connection to phone with a dedicated cable usb-c will yield the best possible sound. As much as possible in our vehicles. And Apple Music would be your best music source for lossless audio and higher.

2DR soft top with alpine.

I run the bass -2 or -3 and the mids and highs flat. I move the bass up or down a bit depending on the genre. Usually -2 for dance/club or hip hop, and -3 for everything else.

With the EQ flat, as delivered the bass was really peaky for me. I have a pretty long torso, so it might be my seating position compared to where it was calibrated at. I haven't measured it.

My source is usually an android phone running Pandora through the USB to android auto.

I set the bass +1 mid flat and treble +1

Works for my aged ears.

Agree about the bass being peaky (at least for the 2-door). Try flat bass & adjusting the fader forwards. The sub is on the rear channels, and the rear speakers can't handle the higher volumes anyway.

I believe I’m at +3, -2, and +2.
I can echo the disappointment with the XM. FM sounds better than XM, XM doesn’t work in my local canyons (where FM stops working and XM would be helpful), and the DJ’s need to talk less and play more music.

Right now I'm at +2 / -2 / +7 and it's sounding pretty good on most of the songs I'm listening to.

Looks like I'm the exception rather than the rule in this thread. I've got bass maxed, mids a -1 and treble at minimum. I also have the fader a couple of clicks towards the front so that may be impacting the bass output hence needing to have the bass turned up to max. I've also put polyfill in the sub enclosure. This is all temporay however....

I had a simple SQ system in a previous vehicle that would score 18s and 19s at comps. I still have the front splits that I ran in that system and am going to be installing them along with the rest of the gear I've cquired in my JL around Christmas. I've got the Rockford Fosgate DSR1 for signal processing with 2 x MB Quart NA2-400.2 to run front and rear stage with sub bass being provided by a Deaf Bonce DB3512 in a custom box tuned to 32HZ powered by a Taramps Smart Bass 3. It is going to be LOUD

I’m a music lover, ex professional audio installer, and a live audio engineer. Had the non Alpine, system till I upgraded. I’ve got the oem 7” radio connected to my phone using the usb c and Apple Lossless.
The only upgrade from that would be a Cck3, into something like a Smsl po100 or Topping d10s, into a dsp, like a Helix, with digital input. It would be a digital signal from your phone or source to dsp.
