I believe “t-tops” are what were on Firebirds and Camaro’s in the 70’s.
There was a small section of roof between the panels. When removed, that roof section and the windshield line made a “T” shape.
Our 2-piece top fits together with no piece between.

My dad and I call them T tops, less of a mouthful than freedom panels, and everyone damn well knows what we’re talking about don’t be pedantic.

Granted he also owned a few t top vehicle so in his mind that’s what removable roof panels is associated with and I just go along.
