Yea it's the very same irrelevant information they republish every few months on different sites for clicks. This article is just a brief compilation of already published information. So sad that this is what is commonly passed off as news.
The EV has its place. But unless they get the battery miles up it is worthless as a battery only vehicle. I had a 4xe I could go 30 miles on a charge Not goodI’m gonna drag my feet, kicking and screaming before giving up ICE…..Until they have a charging station as frequently as there’s gas stations and you’re able to charge it up in the same amount of time as fueling up, you can count my happy ass OUT…..
While I doubt it would happen, an optimistic part of me is hopeful that they will release a 2 door electric Wrangler with a manual transmission. I would by one in a heartbeat.Wow, if they come out with a manual electric I’d be interested. All that torque on a manual sounds very fun. This coming from a guy that swore he would never drive an electric.
My long-term plan is to convert my JLUR to electric, but only when solid-state batteries are available and they have had a few years of development to reduce their weight (they should be 60-70% lighter than cell-based batteries), range is close to what I get now , and the charging is under 10 minutes from 5% to 95%. I also want an axial-flux motor due to efficiency gains and tunable power/torque curve.Wow, if they come out with a manual electric I’d be interested. All that torque on a manual sounds very fun. Agreed…. Only way I would use one, if I trailered it and brought a generator… then pray I didn’t go to far as to not make it back for a reboot ,…..?The EV has its place. I think these conversions would be the way to go, electric without all the baggage and gimmicks that seems to be getting worse and worse with EVs.My long-term plan is to convert my JLUR to electric, but only when solid-state batteries are available and they have had a few years of development to reduce their weight (they should be 60-70% lighter than cell-based batteries), range is close to what I get now , and the charging is under 10 minutes from 5% to 95%. Charging experience is very different from person to person.I’m gonna drag my feet, kicking and screaming before giving up ICE…..Until they have a charging station as frequently as there’s gas stations and you’re able to charge it up in the same amount of time as fueling up, you can count my happy ass OUT…..
Yeah…. My reference was more out on the trail…..my luck I would misjudge it so I’d have to push it back the last mile… …..?Charging experience is very different from person to person.
Someone with access to a simple 110v outlet, and doesn't exhaust the range daily will find charging easier and less time consuming than pumping gas, plug in, go to sleep, wake up to a fully charged vehicle everyday.
Long distance is kinda sorted out with the manufacturers abandoning the ? chargers the government is sinking billions into for Tesla chargers.
