I was talking 3.6 and cartridge filter. Approx. 2 ml to saturate cartridge.

I should have specified 3.6 in my comment. 2.0 is a different story.
Fair enough. Lets split hairs though :) I'm guessing it's more than 2ml since 2ml is literally less than 1/2 and teaspoon.

On the 2.0L engines it's a standard filter which holds almost half a qt. You do you but the reality is if you want to be thorough running the engine is needed.
On ANY engine it's a good idea to run the engine after an oil change just to make sure there's no leaks...

Yep. Actually the reason we always run the vehicle after any oil fill is to check for leaks. Looking at the drain plug and filter housing and everywhere else while the hood is open. Also check all fluid levels. Is a habit we have been doing for almost everything we do. Check - double chk - sometimes triple chk. Has to do with aging past 60 and memory loss. Haha!

Also taking pics and video of everything seems to help. Getting old. Haha!

:like: Yea, obviously...... you should run the vehicle and check for leaks immediately after an oil change..... before you drive the vehicle.

My post about filling the 3.6 with oil and then waiting for say 15 minutes and then mark the dipstick for future reference was a helpful hint that would make oil level checks easier in the future.

No where did the hint say not to end the dance so to speak by starting the vehicle and letting it run on place for a few minutes while you monitor for leaks, etc.. My hint also did not mention resetting the oil reminder... ;)

By the way.. Genuine Mopar M0349 oil filter cartridge for the 3.6, is still on sale at Amazon for $4.79.

Nice. Here was my oil life remaining before dumping it out. Oil still had a lot of life but was getting aged. Did the run mode and tapped over to the right display. We always do our own schedule so do not really follow what is shown. Haha! We are rebels.

As an aside on our Porsche it mandates you must run the engine for a silly amount of time while it reads the digital oil level. No dipstick. But can understand as the engine is right behind your back and down super low to the ground. Flat 6 NA.

Here are pics so we never have to remember what was what. Haha!

Tips are good for everyone. Free is free!

Oil Life Reset:
1. Without pushing the brake pedal, push and release the
ENGINE START/STOP button and place the ignition to
the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).
2. Navigate to Oil Life submenu in Vehicle Info in the
instrument cluster display.
3. Push and hold the OK button until the gauge resets to
100%.

Secondary Method For Oil Change Reset Procedure
1. Without pushing the brake pedal, push and release the
ENGINE START/STOP button and place the ignition to
the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).
2. Fully press the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times
within ten seconds.
3. Without pushing the brake pedal, push and release the
ENGINE START/STOP button once to return the ignition
to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary, repeat this procedure.

I did my first two free oil changes with the dealer on my ‘25 Rubicon X. Today I changed it myself for the first time and 6 damn quarts came out! The manual clearly states 5 quarts so I called the dealer and the service advisor said “they put what it needs and the VIN lookup says 6 quarts”. She said every VIN is different. I called BS on it and she transferred me to the parts guy as a second validation. He looked up my VIN and said “nope, it definitely takes 5 quarts”. P.S. the oil pan bolt required me using an impact wrench to loosen! Had to be 80-100 ft/lbs! I’ll never take it in for something I can do myself. Unbelievable.
I have a phone recording of a service manager telling me he puts 6 quarts in all 3.6 JLs because we’re in NYC and there is a lot of idling. He even said some 3.6 Wranglers take upwards of 6.5 quarts, but he only charges for 6. He then told me if we were in Florida it would be 5 quarts. 🤯

6 quarts is probably the high angle hill climb fill level.

The coriolis effect becomes more neutral as you approach the equator. There is less deflection of the oil in the engine in Florida than in New York, so less need for the higher oil volume. Pretty sure @roaniecowpony will back me up on this since he is wise in the ways of science. 🤓

My Jeep loves oil, like I love beer, it all works out in the end. I’m a dipstick, the Jeep has a dipstick. Ok, I’ll admit, on my third beer right now.
