That would depend on the highways in your area and the 35” tires you run. BFGs do run small to start with. The highest speed limit we have around here is 90kph (55mph) so a little bigger 35” Duratracs are perfect with 4.56 gears. If I lived somewhere with higher speed limits that might make a difference. It seems like the XR (3.6) with the 4.56 gearing is better suited for 37s, rather than the 35's than came stock.
Perhaps the Jeep is now broke in, but almost seemed over geared on stock 35s.
Highway speed limit is 65. In the real world cruising speed is 70-75.That would depend on the highways in your area and the 35” tires you run. BFGs do run small to start with. Yah it’s pretty sad when you have to buy a 37” tire to get a true 35. I do miss my true sized Pitbulls. At least the Duratracs 315/70R-17 run a little over 34” actual size at 32psi.Highway speed limit is 65. In the real world cruising speed is 70-75.
Also, I am running 37 KM3s so those run small, very small. I want to 35.5'ish mounted.
Did you change anything with the shocks when you changed the springs? Love the way yours sits and have the steel bumper and winch as wellI put 2.5” RK springs in instead of spacers to compensate for bumper and winch. Gave me a bit extra if I choose to go 37s next time. The 35/4.56 is a nice combo.
Yes I swapped out shocks as well for Metal Cloak RockSports.Did you change anything with the shocks when you changed the springs? Love the way yours sits and have the steel bumper and winch as well
Did you change suspension or add lift before throwing the 37s on?37" BFGs work great on the Extreme Recon package. They sit at 35.5" mounted, the stock 315/70/17s measured just over 34". Had to move the mounts up on the tailgate bracket. The 4.56 gears are perfect for these tires.
Do you have a link to the differences between the DJV and DJF front axles? The rear axles are the same DRF.Upgraded axles, factory beadlocks, tailgate reinforcement, bigger brakes aren't nothing.
I'll bet we won't see that before 2027. It makes too much sense and the bean counters are risk averse. Unless the Bronco is available with 37s.I think we will see an XR package with 37s and 4.88 from the factory in the future.
The force from impacting a tire really isn't much different between tire sizes. Bent a rim and blew out a sidewall on a bad pothole at 20mph... in a Mazda 6. It happens, even on stock sized tires.I wouldn’t be so sure….
I bent my Dana 44 front axle with a hit to a large pothole covered by snow going 10mph running 37” BFG K02s. Had less than 1500 miles on the 2022 JLU Rubicon. There is a big difference in leverage from 35-37” tires on those axle housings. I didn’t even bend mine on the FAD, it bent right next to the C on the drivers side. Now the bend isn’t too bad and is still driveable, but it still happened and it was a minor hit.
There is no more leverage on the axle tube from bigger tires. It's purely the impulse on the axle. Now tire radius directly impacts the torque on the drive train as T = R Cross F. Bigger tires, bigger lever. Not so with bending the axle. It's almost always the skinny petal that bends/breaks axles. I wouldn't think 10 MPH pothole shouldn't bend a non-defective axle. I've hit plenty of big holes and rocks with my 37" KM3s and no detectable bends so far.I wouldn’t be so sure….

Exactly. I busted a stock wheel hitting a big rock going to fast on my JLR. Lucky the tire hit the rock and not my front axle or if would have busted at the FAD for sure. The force from impacting a tire really isn't much different between tire sizes. I like the XR for the heavier diff housing, gears, better brakes and the wheels. I would have no concerns at all running 37s …Do you have a link to the differences between the DJV and DJF front axles? The rear axles are the same DRF.
I think what @Stormin’ Moorman might mean what many others have asserted, if you're after 37's or higher, just get the regular Rubicon.
I'll bet we won't see that before 2027. It makes too much sense and the bean counters are risk averse. Unless the Bronco is available with 37s.
Then I'm predicting JEEP will offer 37s soon.I like the XR for the heavier diff housing, gears, better brakes and the wheels. I would have no concerns at all running 37s …
The Bronco Raptor comes with 37BFG KO2.
