I heard a rumor that the twin-turbo V6 is coming for 2020.
(of course, I started the rumor...)
?? wait did you mean 2022… we are already past 2020.. ?
I seen someone saying the new Grand is supposed to get that new inline 6… I’d like to see more on that and see it go back into a Wrangler once again. Probably the only gas engine other than the hemi that I’d be interested in. For now I’ll stick with my diesel.

Ya thumbed the date ?
I will also stick with the diesel for now, a 350hp/400tq twin-turbo I6 would turn my head tho

Kinda looks like the Anvil from JK days!
I think Anvil has more blue in it and yes, its an awesome color that could very well get me to trade my 19 in for 22.

Are you getting any search hits on the new inline 6? Almost everything I find is 2019 articles. Supposedly going to be a very nice engine and could come in the Wrangler with HP/torque somewhere between current 3.6l and hemi. Hell, I'd be happy with it getting up into the mid 300's on both numbers.

Hahaha, maybe they'll borrow it from Nissan.

I used to be very excited about this engine. But i have come to accept the truth: it’s dead.

why? Because the 4Xe has the same performance characteristics. They are not going to invest in bringing a gas engine to the market when they can just adopt the hybrid across their lineup.

Idk how accurate he is, but it would be interesting… ??‍♂ Yes, it says Ram. However he talks about Jeep as well. Not the only video on YouTube talking about this. There was another I believe. It had popped up in my google news feed.

Recycled talking points from 2019. No new information. I am very skeptical.

The plan was for the Grand Cherokee to be the first to get the engine, as he says. But now the Grand Cherokee is slated for the hybrid later this year. Why would they do both?

He even compares the 5.7 to the 4Xe and acknowledges that they are basically equivalent. It needs to be improved for towing applications. But my guess is their R&D dollars will go towards improving the 4Xe and not the i6 turbo.

I have been comparing 4xe High Altitude to Sahara for a few months now, holding out for a few changes before placing an order, but I did just notice they added Gecko to the HA colors, which originally were limited to Black, White, and Gray/Silver. Hopefully that means they are expanding the HA color choices.

Yeah Anvil is the best color they've ever done, and I was trying to wait out for it to see if 2022 would get it. I figured there was a high chance, since they recently brought it back for use on the Power Wagon. But...2022 wait has continued to drag on and on so I went ahead and ordered Hydro.

IF they do end up offering Anvil for 2022 I'll be pissed. But, with Earl 99.5% confirmed I would say it's unlikely.

Can you elaborate on Earl being 99.5% confirmed? Sources? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.

I just hope we get to learn SOMETHING out of the Chicago show
The Chicago show is about 2 weeks away. During a normal show year I get media passes for a preview. Not sure this year because it is a totally different format and much shorter show. I will post if I hear anything sooner.

Mark Allen, head of the Jeep design studio, stated "We've got Earl Grey coming up" in a recent interview that was published online.

Look up Autoline Network on YouTube, and search for the video they streamed with him at the end of May 2021.
