2 door ver. 4 door

It’s just a matter of size/need. As many have said one way or another, either 2 or 4 door Rubicon versions can go the same places - it’s picking the line is all.

A four door wouldn’t fit my apartment’s garage. And I grew tired of always being the one driving every dang body because I had a four door “roomy” vehicle (Jetta) and everyone else had two door vehicles. And, with the exception of the four door land yachts of the 60s and early 70s, I’m more partial to two doors.

Get what YOU like. Everyone will have opinions. Make it yours OP. ??

2dr jlr all the way. Never owned a 4 dr. Don’t want to. Get what you want. 4dr serves a purpose. I have owned about 9 or 10 Jeeps. Golden eagle to the jl Including 2, 4 dr grand Cherokees. I like the shorter tight turning of the 2dr. Take out the rear seat and load her up and go. The ride on my Ruby is nice, no dive or choppy ride. I like everything about the JLR but the electronics. Don’t like the nannying of vehicles. But to each their on. Enjoy your Jeep whatever you decide to get.

Buy a 2 door because they're cooler, less common, and look better.

The 2.0T has more torque than the V6, actually. More torque and lower in the rev range, which means it's far more usable.

All this coming for a guy who owns a 4-door Sport S with the V6 and manual transmission. I'm basically telling you to order the exact opposite of my Jeep.

I'd have done a 2 door in a heartbeat if I didn't really want the added practicality/convenience of a 4-door (I have a toddler and another on the way).

Who would think a 4 would have more then the V6, even at low RPM.
Looking to do my first test drive tomorrow, will compare the 4 and 6.

I have a 2 door Sport S and I drive off road with my Jeep Club.

The short wheel base is easier to maneuver in almost every situation. The long wheel base has a greater reach, which can be useful but only sometimes.

I dunno, I could have got a 4dr for about the same $$ as my 2 dr S. I got the 2 dr because with just the wife, dog, and I it’s got plenty of room. I like the very tight turning radius of the 2 dr. It fits my needs and desires perfectly

LOL, ok but Jeep website base MSRP for 2dr Sport S is 33,050 and 4dr Sport S is 36,550. So congrats on passing up the better deal if you could have got a 4dr Sport S for same price as your 2 dr Sport S.

Like I told OP, get what you like. That's all that matters. My point is the 2dr doesn't really offer any off road advantage. Other than price and looks if you like the look. I don't but that doesn't matter. The turn radius is only slightly smaller if you wheel tight trails. Longer wheelbase is better for actually climbing stuff.

Or buy the 4dr, have the extra room and still buy the camper lol!

Everyone is wrong! Just buy a two door wrangler with the dual door group. You get a two door wrangler with four doors. Best of both worlds!

If you're really feeling outlandish though.... Buy a four door wrangler with the dual door group. That's right! A four door wrangler with eight doors! ?

Bottom line; buy the one you'd regret not buying in the back of your mind.

My first jeep was a '98 TJ sport, loved it. Then I got into an '09 JKU, now I'm in a '21 JL Willys.
If you want big tires, like 33" and up, the 4door is a much more stable platform for height and doing obstacles but it doesn't really 'hop' like a 2 door if you're aggressive on obstacles. The 4 door feels like driving a shovel to me. If you have a fancy transfer case, the 4 door's longer wheel base and extra weight helps get full potential out a fancy T case, like doing a front dig.
Ever change a big tire by yourself? I used to do the buttplant/ankle shimmy, and it sucks.
I like a 2 door as a jeep, and a 4 door as an overlander.

Well not sure you can carry 2 11’ kayaks on the rubicon or dusy and 4 passengers in a 2 door no matter how hard you try... let alone all the gear for a week.

thus I am just suggesting to think through your intended usage, for some a four door makes sense. For me, I “need” a 4 door, but want a 2 door ?

Trust me if you had a 2 door youd figure it out. With my rack I can mount them offset and have some space on the middle. My kayak is 14ft. In the attached picture I dont have them offset. Then I have a bit of space on the back not much but some. rest of the stuff can go in a hitchmount large basket. If you really need tons of gear or the hitch mounted basket wont work on the terrain you are going then youll need a small offroad trailer. The trailer is a game changer, get a small squaredrop trailer and you have space for whatever you want. Can carry kayaks on top of trailer and still have your jeep rack. But kayaks is the worst case scenario cause theyre huge. Most people can simply get away with a nice roof rack. We are just used to huge cars here in the U.S. thats all.

Of course the 4 door is more convenient, but most people dont realize the 2 door can work for them too. And yeah 3 people is ok, 4 people then youre pushing it. 5 people impossible!.

Pretty Jeep, that set up will not make the rubicon nor dusy, those kayaks will be ripped off on the first set of trees. 2 door or 4 door.

Again, understanding the trails of interest is super important, I completely agree for street and dirt road use, your right. Hard trails and long trips, not so much.

not trying argue, just making sure the original poster gets a more hard core wheelin perspective.

FYI I have 1973 check 2 door too, I get it.
