I used a Dremel tool with a cutting disk to cut a slot in the ring. Pried it off with a screwdriver, and then hammered a socket on then took it off that way. Of course I had the do that 5 times.

That's what I got and had no problems with install. Pulling a wire to the front of the jeep is the only real hurdle involved. I ran mine mostly inside the frame rails.
