  1. Let's see those 2-Door JL pics!

If anyone wants to see better pics of half doors on 2 door with the uppers on I can take some. Thought I'd post this here as I don't recall seeing a lot of halfs with uppers on. These are half's with standard uppers (not premium.) They work great! The little triangle windows make the mirrors...
  2. Do the half doors come with mirrors installed ?

You do not have to swap mirrors. The half doors come with a full set of power mirrors already attached and are ready to be mounted on the Jeep.
  3. Question for the gear swap gurus- Gear swap backlash problem

@chevymitchell The mystery has been solved! I finally got ahold of OX and they had me verify all 3 part numbers of the components of the locker. I had verified the part number before install, or so I thought... The carrier and large bearing Side cap were correct, when I checked the small...
  4. Question for the gear swap gurus- Gear swap backlash problem

Yeah, it seemed wrong in my head. Trying to shim one side; not the smartest thing I've ever done. Also not the dumbest.... I did throw it back in my press this morning and checked both bearings. Neither budged at all, the needle on my press just climbed as soon as I applied pressure. I tried...
  5. Question for the gear swap gurus- Gear swap backlash problem

UPDATE: I double checked everything today and didn't find any errors from yesterday. Bearings pressed on the carrier fully, no more shims in the axles, no RTV. With how tight the OX was in there yesterday, there was no physical way I was going to be able to add more shims. I gave up on the...
  6. Question for the gear swap gurus- Gear swap backlash problem

Thank you for your response and everyones responses! I was starting to go crazy yesterday trying to set this thing up. I'll double check all of those things in a little while; when it's an acceptable hour for me to be making a ruckus in my garage.... I did use a little 10 ton press to get the...
  7. Question for the gear swap gurus- Gear swap backlash problem

I don't have setup bearings for the m220 sadly; or in the case, a setup race. I may try and grind the old one a bit tomorrow to make one.... I have been having to knock out the inner pinion bearing race each time as the m220 has the shim behind the bearing race. I was kinda figuring that I...
  8. Question for the gear swap gurus- Gear swap backlash problem

Being a rookie gear guy I just wanted to make sure it sounded appropriate to add that much to the pinion shim. I hadn't seen that before. I do have a case spreader; but I honestly think the carrier preload is as much or more than stock. I think those carrier shims are about maxed out.
  9. Question for the gear swap gurus- Gear swap backlash problem

I'm in the middle of a gear swap on my JL; the front axle I'm doing pretty well with and just cleaning up the pattern- I actually have to add some backlash. I am; however, running into an issue with my rear axle. I have a 2021 JL with the m220 narrow axle. Im going from the Sport 3.45 to 4.88...
  10. Anyone using an Antirock Swaybar on their JL?

Just took my Jeep off road today with the new Antirock front (and rear disconnected.) It handled outstanding! Much better than the stock, non-disconnectable bars. Articulated better and it wasn't nearly as jarring. Night and day difference. Looking forward to reconnecting the rear Antirock.
  11. Weak Throttle Response on Manual Transmission Models?

Sadly with milage standards the days of big displacement engines with gobs of off idle torque are probably gone. Just don't complain to the old YJ/TJ guys with the 2.5l, 4 cyl about not being able to spin the tires with the 3.6l..... I am loving this engine/transmission!
  12. Weak Throttle Response on Manual Transmission Models?

    I can't remember we're I read it, but someone once said that compared to the JK the JL essentially loses one non-OD gear. (4th) The JK manual: 1st:. 4.46 2nd: 2.61 3rd: 1.72 4th: 1.25 5th: 1 6th: .84 The JL manual: 1st:. 5.13 2nd: 2.63 3rd: 1.53 4th: 1 5th: .81 6th: .72...
  13. Anyone using an Antirock Swaybar on their JL?

PS- it woudn't really be a Jeep without SOMETHING zip-tied somewhere.... It feels right now. :CWL:
  14. Anyone using an Antirock Swaybar on their JL?

Oh, don't get me wrong; I look forward to being able to hook it back up! My displeasure with the fitment issues does not make me dislike the product overall. I merely think the proper place to list those issues isn't solely at the end a YouTube video. Had I known about the issue before, I could...
  15. Anyone using an Antirock Swaybar on their JL?

Sadly that seems to be standard customer support nowadays. I think the product itself is awesome!! The cast arms look amazing, the heim joints are great, fit and finish is outstanding. It's a b!t@hin product. I just find it disappointing that the ONLY place it lists possible fitment issues...
  16. Anyone using an Antirock Swaybar on their JL?

Not that I don't want to hear it. I'm glad they mention it somewhere! I was more posting for others so they know. I used the PDF install instructions and it's not mentioned anywhere in the install instructions or on the product page. I hadn't watched the video before.....
  17. Anyone using an Antirock Swaybar on their JL?

I just installed both front and rear Antirock sway bars on my 2021 Willys Sport 2 door with the rear Dana m220 (narrow). Got the install finished and drove around the block a couple times. Went to double check the bolts and saw that the upper heim joints were touching the stock tires on stock...
  18. That 6MT transmission: I really like it!

I haven't looked into this any further than getting the part numbers themselves... If you do a parts search for a 2018-2020 JL/JT clutch you will find a Mopar part number of 68273845AC. (This part replaces: 68273845AA and 68273845AB) If you do that same search for a 2021 JL/JT it will return...
  19. Locker Options for Sport

It was about $1100 for each of the lockers with the shifter and cable (900 locker alone), front or rear. About 480 for the rear gears and install kit.
  20. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Took a picture of what may possibly be the single rarest factory part installed on a '21 JL! I find oddities like this interesting (and like to stir up those who will be triggered by it....) The elusive A/C bypass pulley; aka the aluminum caterpillar:
