Just got my Rubicon yesterday with the 2.0 Turbo, only a couple miles on it, went out today after breaking her in out at queen valley in the storm and both tanks were at the max mark, just under and checked for any residue and or loose boots around the turbo hoses didn’t find anything loose, maybe I just got a good tech that did the PDI, I wanted to check since many of you said you wished you had checked it when you got your jeeps. All good here??

Mine was full too with 12 miles on it at delivery. 2000 mi later… she’s real low as posted above.

Keep an eye on it. Check it cold.

Absolutely, I’m kinda a nut so I’ll be checking it often as with other things. Thanks for the info

This sounds similar to the issues the 4.0’s had with the 0331 head on the 2001’s. If I had a 2.0 and I started losing coolant without an obvious sign aside from level dropping (IE, puddle under the vehicle) I’d be getting my used oil analyzed to check for the presence of coolant. Once that shit is in the oil it starts destroying the engine if you don’t catch it quick. Sorry to hear of your troubles, it’s crazy how far we’ve come with engines yet stuff like this somehow happens.
Had 2 of those 0331s.Pain in the ass.

Taking mine to the dealer this week. Pissed through a gallon or so of coolant in the last week.
2021 with 17,870 miles. I could get in there and tinker myself but to hell with it. ?

The coolant is landing on the front differential and running off the sides of it. I'm leaning towards that inlet elbow on the water pump, or the water pump itself.

Meanwhile you could store a white linen tablecloth under my '06 LJ. Nothing drips from that besides a little dampness around the rear axle's pinion seal, but never reaches the ground.

There is a thread on the loose bolts on the pump. Suggest you consider tightening them before all your coolant leaks out.

You are correct I could fix it. But I’m not driving it until it goes to the dealer Thursday. Instead I’m driving the nearly twenty year old LJ. When it’s not hot and under pressure, the leak slows considerably. If I was hundreds of miles from home, for sure I’d fix it myself.

I want Chrysler to have record of how they couldn’t find their own ass in the dark with both hands.

The TJ or LJ? Would gladly repair on my own. Those are different.

You'd rather bring it to the dealer than tighten two bolts and put some coolant in? Okie dokie.

Yeah I gladly will, it's under warranty -- for defects.

How many much more inexpensive things have or will you return or exchange at a store for lesser issues? If you just want to fix it yourself and carry on, please do so. That is your choice, and I've made mine.

Like I posted before, if I was hundreds of miles away from home, and/or relying on it for daily transport I for sure would fix it myself. I'll surely top off to keep it from grenading itself.

I'd like them to pressure test to see if there's any other leaks I'm not seeing. Then when it leaks again, there's already record of it being addressed on this vehicle once before. The more records Chrysler has of this happening -- the closer it might get to a recall. They don't read these forums.

My parents had a 2012 JK that got two new heads (early pentastar 3.6 issue), and a transmission under warranty. Yours and my experience with Jeep and Chrysler likely differ and I'm much more wary of any little issue on them when they're still under warranty. Routine maintenance now, and other repairs once it's out of warranty? To hell with the dealers.

If this was a Ford, Chevy, or even vehicle of a different Chrysler badge, would we be so willing to accept dogshit assembly practices as part of the experience?

EDIT: Further reading makes me think there would never be a recall for this because it's not really a "safety" issue.

This thread convinced me to check my coolant level. 2021 JLUR 2.0, 25k miles. I added 20 oz to the tank to get it to read full. So I went searching for a leak. The water pump didn't show evidence of a leak, but after more searching I found this. Its where the hose coming off the bottom of the tank goes into the lower radiator hose by the water pump. I could just put a better clamp on but it's off to the dealer to let them fix it and do a pressure check of the system to see if there are any other issues.

Got mine back from dealer today. They did a full pressure check and saw no problems. My service advisor says he’s seen a lot of low reservoirs lately, and thinks it’s air pockets in the system that are getting worked out since the first fluid fill.

We’ll see.

Called the dealer because I was between meetings, they have to keep mine an additional day for the parts to arrive. Tightening the bolts would not fix mine. Will provide more details when I pick it up and get the whole story. The service advisor thought it was called an inlet transfer tube or some such, but I only had minutes to be on the phone.

Sorry for a somewhat inconclusive post at the moment.
