Called the dealer because I was between meetings, they have to keep mine an additional day for the parts to arrive. Tightening the bolts would not fix mine. Will provide more details when I pick it up and get the whole story. The service advisor thought it was called an inlet transfer tube or some such, but I only had minutes to be on the phone.

Sorry for a somewhat inconclusive post at the moment.
The entire inlet tube has been replaced. Picking up tonight. I'd guess a poor casting, or poor machining on the sealing faces. I'll post up scans of my receipts if they offer anything helpful.

Service Advisor said they took a brand new TRX4 Ram off the showroom because it was pissing coolant on the floor out of its auxiliary radiator. The tube necessary to fix that on backorder.

Found this thread if anyone cares to read of RAM truck woes https://www.ram-trx.com/threads/auxiliary-radiator-coolant-leak.2397/

EDIT: Googling TRX Ram coolant leak brings up many forum threads very similar to our own. Some real piss poor plastic parts, and sometimes metal being used.

Probably of no help, but if one wants the part numbers for a new inlet tube, there it is.

Drove around this weekend running errands, no leaks, no drop in the reservoir level.
YAYYYYYY!!!!! You got it back! ?

Thanks for posting the invoice!??

This thread convinced me to check my coolant level. 2021 JLUR 2.0, 25k miles. I added 20 oz to the tank to get it to read full. So I went searching for a leak. The water pump didn't show evidence of a leak, but after more searching I found this. Its where the hose coming off the bottom of the tank goes into the lower radiator hose by the water pump. I could just put a better clamp on but it's off to the dealer to let them fix it and do a pressure check of the system to see if there are any other issues.

Before I took it to the dealer yesterday I did a good check to see if there was anything else I should have them check. I found 2 more things, oil was coating the front and part of the bottom of the oil pan and the left front shock had a coating of oil on it. The service advisor called today. They are replacing the coolant hose and clamp. The oil on the pan is from the timing chain cover, so they are replacing that gasket. The shock is indeed leaking so they are replacing both front shocks. Supposed to be done tomorrow, we'll see!

@tk1700 do you happen to have the photos of this oil leak from the timing chain cover ?

I do have exactly the similar issues. My timing chain cover was covered with the dust mixed with oil in the area right behind the auxiliary belt. There was no an oil drops or leak, just dirt. The dealership service did a tightening of timing cover bolts and 2000 miles after, no evidence of oil dirt mixture.

I am also having a coolant leak from the same hose coming from the expansion reservoir ( the black one near by the turbo)in the area where it is connecting with the water pump. I have replaced the clamp with one with fixed tension and the leak was gone. However when I touch the edge of the hose, I still can notice little moisture,. I would accept that this is a defect hose. The dealership ordered a new hose and clamp also the expansion reservoir.I am also experiencing coolant leak from the expansion reservoir gasket.

Sorry no pic of the oil leak. The entire front of the pan and bottom where the bolts are was covered with a film of oil. I really didn't investigate it but assumed it was the pan gasket or timing chain cover. I just dumped it on the dealer since its warranty work. The dealer changed the timing cover gasket and front crankshaft seal. Picked it up saturday and so far its ok.

After reading this thread, I went ahead and tightened up the water pump inlet bolts and thermostat housing bolts yesterday on my late model 2022 JLUR with less than 2K miles, and they were all fairly loose. Each bolt took about a quarter turn to snug them up tight.

Can't believe this is still a thing after all these years, and Stellantis has not even put a minimum amount of effort into rectifying this issue.

Has anyone who has tightened these bolts themselves, had them loosen back up again after some time? I will keep an eye on them, but just wondering if this is a one time concern, or if this will keep happening without applying locktite.

I purchased this particular threadlocker for use on the fasteners mentioned in this thread, based on the advice of a trusted mechanic who understood how it was to be used. Just an FYI.

I've used a variety of thread lock fluids in a variety of applications. They have proven their value every time.

I had to fill mine with about 8oz of coolant again, in the black tank by the turbo. I also see a stain on the hood liner just to the left of the black coolant tank, so I suspect something is ejecting coolant up into the liner. I have had a strong coolant smell outside the vehicle lately, but cannot find any trace of the coolant anywhere.

Try to remove the coolant reservoir from its holder and check the back side for any leaks.
It it possible in case of leak, the coolant to be blown by the radiator fan when it is operating at high speed. I have had the same issue. Coolant smell but not a drop of coolant visible under the hood.
Over time my coolant reservoir started to leak on its back side and I saw the coolant drops and identified the leaking spot. Still waiting the reservoir and the hose to be delivered. You might also want to check the water pump bolts mentioned.

Good idea. I ordered a black stone oil test. I will report back when the results are in.
I just got the blackstone oil results back. The oil was at 5,000 miles. No coolant present or any other issues identified. Good news, but the mystery of where the coolant is going remains unresolved.

Fantastic news! Thx for sharing.

This makes me think that there is some other mystery to our 2.0T coolant system. Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Chupacabra, and UFOs got nuthin’ on us!!! :like:

Chupacabras are known to feast on coolant. I’ll have to check for fang marks in the hose

Shot in the dark here but is it possible the turbo is cooking/evaporating some coolant off since it's next to the black coolant tank?
