Only have 3 answers for that, one of which you'd already figured out. Use another battery? Hook up the jumper cables or jump box since starting it is probably more important than unlocking the tailgate anyway? Put it on a charger, and within a few minutes you'd have enough juice to unlock/lock the Jeep? Personally I'd just charge it until it would start, but if you are only concerned with the locks that shouldn't take long. Thanks all for your responses and especially @Zandcwhite. It appears that Zach has an answer for everything, except maybe how to unlock the tailgate if the battery is dead.
I agree. Unfortunately, even an hour on the charger wasn’t enough to get the electrical system working and the jump box didn’t help either. Once I was able to lock up the Jeep, I left it on the charger overnight and all was good by morning.Only have 3 answers for that, ….
I believe if you open your key fob up you will indeed find a battery. CR2450I have a Sport, my key doesn’t have a battery. Just a metal thing I stick in the door and turn. Don’t understand the question maybe.
You are correct! ... It will have both a circuit board and a CR2450 battery. All JL's have both...I believe if you open your key fob up you will indeed find a battery. CR2450
Sir, you're not supposed to post pornography here, this is a family websiteI stumbled onto this "unlocked with keys in the ignition" Willys a few days ago:

The AAA rollback driver that got into my locked truck didn't need 2 minutes. He used a little inflatable puffy bag (I don't know the technical name) to extend the top part of the door frame outward just enough to slip in a long flat rod (again, the proper name eludes me) that pressed the power lock switch. Done.it's not remotely difficult to break into a locked vehicle
