  3. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Participated in Cal4Wheelā€™s Winter Fun Fest last weekend. Had a great time, though (or maybe because) some winching was involved.
  4. Anyone with a 2 Door Overland/Camping Setup?

This was our setup for a month long overlanding trip that included the Idaho backcountry discovery route and the continental divide from north to south. it is for two people and a dog, so things get pretty tight. I have replaced the seat with a homemade platform and a shelf for the dog and to...
  5. Happy Wednesday!!! Let's see those šŸ„¶ Ice/ Snā„w photos!!!

Over the weekend at Cal4Wheelā€™s Winter Fun Fest in the Sierra Nevadas. Some winching was involved, but unfortunately no photos. Great fun.
  6. Show us your Jeep's rear storage setups

Thanks. I made it out of baltic birch plywood with cutouts for the woofer to give a good flat surface for the platform and additional cutouts to lighten it up a bit. It worked well. I used the four oem screw points in the rear as well as the front seat mounts to anchor it all down. I...
  7. Show us your Jeep's rear storage setups

Here are some better photos showing the storage platform. The grey board is to both give me a flat surface and a means to anchor the platform to the rear seat mounts.
  8. Show us your Jeep's rear storage setups

Kind of hard to see in the photo, but it is a homemade base and shelf made of Baltic birch.
  9. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

We camped on BLM land this time around, but the campground at Red Rock SP is very nice. Weā€™ve camped there many times. Not a lot of amenities, but it has unusual rock formations that are great for exploring.
  10. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Unfortunately, Cal4Wheelā€™s Panamint Valley Days was cancelled this year due to the extensive damage from the remnants of hurricane Hilary, so we spent a couple days wheeling around Red Rock State Park. Of course the dog and cat had to come. First time for the cat. She was a real trooper...
  11. Lets see those 2drs OFFROAD (pictures zone)

Near Dove Springs OHV. McIverā€˜s Cabin. Walsh Cabin.
  12. What did you do to your 2dr today?

I have to agree that the passenger side definitely impacts visibility, especially for the 2-door. Luckily, the Jeep has a pretty good backup camera, so backing out of a parking spot isnā€™t an act of blind faith. Lane changes also take a little extra care as you can imagine. The diverā€™s side, on...
  13. What did you do to your 2dr today?

They are made by XPO Gear. https://xpogear.com/products/jl2doorgullwing My first impression is that they are very well made. They are powder-coated aluminum. The powder coating looks to be very well done, much better than other equipment Iā€™ve installed.
  14. What did you do to your 2dr today?

    Replaced the rear windows.
  15. Lets see those 2drs OFFROAD (pictures zone)

Here are a couple photos on the Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route from a couple weeks ago. Sometimes you need a little more room than the 2-door can provide.
  16. Jack side mount

Quadratic has one by Go Rhino that mounts in front of the A pillar. You can find it at https://www.quadratec.com/p/go-rhino/exterior-jack-mount-jeep-wrangler-jl-gladiator-jt?gclid=Cj0KCQiAj4ecBhD3ARIsAM4Q_jFwl_3iY-TZl9mp-jIzW3ZuldpTn3O8b_qr_PP7qAhkEXtdpO1tGZsaAhyIEALw_wcB#&gid=1&pid=1.
  17. Midland MXT275 Problems

If itā€™s not too late to add my 2cents, I ran across the same problem on a long Jeep trip. Very frustrating when you are running with several other jeeps and things get quiet. Luckily I had a handheld radio too. I initially hard wired my unit in as well. The problem with the MXT275 is that it...
  18. How to (perfectly?) build a 2 door JL for overlanding purpose?

@Probearded1 - same here. you can see a photo showing my rack in post #4 above. I try to keep the weight up top to a minimum, so it might be a little overkill!
  19. How to (perfectly?) build a 2 door JL for overlanding purpose?

This might be a little overkill for you but I took my ā€˜19 JLR 2-door with my wife and dog on a two week overland trip around Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. We primarily were camping though we did hotel it a few nights. I removed the rear seat and built a simple plywood base with raised...
  20. Front & Rear Bumper General Opinions

Iā€™ve been very happy with my LOD Destroyer Shorty bumper up front. It is well built and I have had no issues. I have a Warn rear bumper with tire carrier for the rear. Though I like the tire carrier, I have found the bumper to be too big and heavy. I have also found that the quality is not...
