Only people who've never driven anything with horsepower and torque think gearing accomplishes the same thing. If that worked you could just slap it in 4Lo and run 0-60 in 4seconds. Go try it (no it won't hurt the jeep to drive on dry pavement in a straight line), it doesn't work that way. Gearing helps to keep the vehicle in the power band, but with the 8spd that's never a problem. The problem is the v6s power comes on high in the rpms and is barely adequate for a 5klb built rig on large tires.
And I probably wouldn't have any complaints if I had the 8sp auto, but the gear spread with the 6sp combined with the 3.45 final is lacking in the pep department for sure. I've learned to live with it, just keep the tach above 2k and all is well. And you're right, the fastest car I've ever personally driven was a 1999 C5, or C6, with all of 350 HP and the 6sp at the time, and that scared me plenty! I'd love a 392 but not for 90k, 100 other better uses for my money...

I couldn't justify the cost of a 392 either, but we did try gearing the 2019 JLUR deep with 5.38s and 38s. It picked up nothing 0-60 according to the tazer and was always in 8th gear at any speed above 40mph. Freeway speed meant 2500+ rpms even down hill with a tail wind. No gain and $3k out the window. With 3.45s and the 6spd I would actually suggest a regear, but don't get caught up in the going super deep.

Personal experience here... In my near 50years of driving I've driven plenty of high horsepower vehicles. I will say that re-gearing my 3.6/auto Willys from 3.45 to 4.56 (running 34" tires), immensely improved it's drivability. In fact, I think, for that torque lacking (at low rpms) engine, it's rather in the sweet spot for all around use. I've also had several Jeeps in my time...
But I digress, this is off topic ?

Yeah I would go 4.56 and I'm only going to 33's (275-70-18), but I already laid out for the CF2 clutch and will probably forgo the gearing. It's ok, just gotta keep the engine in its sweet spot which is really anything over 2k...boy does it hate under 2k...:CWL::CWL:

not to mention the 392 weighs in around 800lbs, nearly twice that of the I6 HO.
Where are you guys getting these stats? The 392 weighs ~500# dry without accessories.

Pulled out of their ? — better preferred emoji not available.
Come on. How can they claim comparable power to weight ratios between the 2.0 and 392 if they use realistic numbers? Numbers pulled freshly from their anus can be much, much more compelling.

And all too often used to support arguments. Example— “a V8 costs $20/30/40 K more”. Before purchase I compared it to a diesel. My build with all the same options as “standard” — $77.6 K vs just under $68K. Add the lift and beadlock capable the difference was ~ $5K. Granted the diesel wasn’t cheap either, but it wasn’t $15K extra or more. I wasn’t interested in the other options…..

Plus paddle shifts and thicker steering wheel, which aren't / weren't options on the diesel.

Plus water diverting CAI scooped hood, frame reinforcement, upgrade shocks,
should just about cover the $5K.
A diesel Rubicon ! Before someone quotes a diesel Sport price for argument.

Could always rework the firewall. Maybe they didn't want any secrets to get out like this one

Willys CJ5– 55- 71, stretched 5” in 72 for the AMC I-6, produced through 83. The JL will not last another 11 years…. I-6 JL highly unlikely unless it does easily “fit”.

Yeah it looks good. But added to the “Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust” , also added “Active Sound Enhancement” and “Active Vibration System Enhancement” ..:
The AVE system would send vibrations in a few ways . First a force generator would be able to vibrate the chassis or body of the EV in accordance with data from sensors recording driving dynamics such as motor speed and pedal position . Additionally it will also send sensations at key touch points such as the steering wheel and the drivers seat.
“The vibration system is set to work in tandem with ASE, where the same sensors would control speakers pumping in Fake Engine Noise to both the cabin and the outside world “
Hey Dodge, ….even if the T-6
