Jebus...$153K for a tarted-up Tahoe.

Well, there is "The roar of luxury." So it has that going for it, which is nice.
C’mon- just $152.3 K ….. before a single option, shipping, dealer paperwork fees, don’t forget protective polish and nitrogen, tax (minimum $12,565 in Ca) license ( 21 Wrangler is ~$900)
Hey- don’t exaggerate $700

This straight six is only 3.0L thats a full 1L smaller or 61 cubic inches smaller than the old 4.0 straight six. that motor fit in previous smaller Jeeps . This is a short straight six due to its small displacement,. I see no reason why it won’t fit in the new larger wrangler.

Mm. Maybe.

We do have to take seriously the sheer amount of stuff that is bolted to a modern engine. This is doubly true when the additional plumbing of forced induction is included, as the linked photo illustrates. Bear in mind also that this "smaller" straight-6 is sitting in a full-size, light truck frame.

With that in mind, Lord help us if the JM-gen. Wrangler takes on even more bloat in order to accommodate the 3.0 I6.

I'm reminded of the Cummins turbodiesel (also an inline-6) in a family member's 3500 RAM. It's a large vehicle with a large underhood area, and yet one still has to strain a bit to see a bit of daylight, or the ground, when looking in the engine bay.

Well, there’s that little issue of where to put two turbochargers.

No issue, there on the sides. Where the big V8 Hemi heads are now. Turbos are rarely on the front of the engine. You see a straight six is narrow. Lots of room on the sides.

I heard the IL6 Hurricane will come in a special edition with 20" wheels, lowered, and have angry eyes.

6”‘ is half of 12”
Or it's 6 more inches they currently have to stuff this in. They'd need to rework the firewall and the whole engine bay for a 2ish year run before the jm.

Opinions vary, my cousins uncles brother said the SST will drop right in there. No problem. Time will tell.

Looks like they went with success and have an oil cooler like the 3.6L.
