It can’t fit, it won’t fit. It’s impossible. Lots of experts here informed me/us in every thread on the topic. Unless it does then they’ll disappear and forget they ever said that. lol
Now where have I heard that before ?
Jeep Wrangler JL Let the chatter begin..... 3.0L Hurricane I6 Engine B92A41F0-A96E-4029-9BE2-FD1A8ED6C51E

without sufficient incentive to justify cost vs returns for the JL’s remaining production it will not fit………an I-6 even “fit” in a 3B , with extensive fabrication. ….. did you know the Boss 429 doesn’t fit in a Mustang. Ford did extensive fabrication, even moved the shock towers on just enough required “production” models to qualify to race. The incentive overcame the cost. Jeep’s incentive ?

Well will it be 420 hp with 469 TQ OR 540 hp and 521 TQ According to Ram they are offering the same gear ratio`s 3.21, 3.55, and 3.92
It's going to be interesting comparing this to my Raptor TT V-6 vs a straight 6 TT
At least there will be a lot of Hoptions for the six. Just a larger intercooler will get you some ponies and a tune to control the trans too would be great!
Now how much will it add to the cost of a Rubicon 392 vs TT6, t`s already out of control on the pricing, and it seems like the value of my 21 392 XR is sinking.
My MSRP on my 12/21 392 XR was $82,345 back in the beginning of 22, with the $350 tow pkg. $295 red paint, $3995 XR pkg, $525 Headliner, $195 Gorilla Glass and $595 for the trail cam plus $1595 for delivery. I have not looked it up to see what it is worth but I`m sure like most it`s not good
It's a $103,000 fully loaded, $93,000 stock 392.

What? Are we getting a new engine?

A 392 isn't worth $40k extra in the used market also? Ya don't say...
Hmmmm, nope, you can get a 22 392 for about $65,000-70,000 with under 20,000 miles

Any of you 392ers who got out of a 392, why? I'm trying to get on the final edition list at two dealers, but lb for lb, my 4,000lb 2 door with 260 tq at 15 lb load per ft/lb is pretty peppy and close to a 6,500lb 392 with 470ft/lbs at 13.8 lb, call it 14lb per ft/lb.

OHV engines are small though. Heads are tiny in comparison to OHC. Remove the 392 plastic covers and the engine is smaller than the Pentastar physically.

For a truly massive engine see the 5.8L DOHC in the 13/14 GT500s...

A genuine wide body , is Ford trying to steal the “Elephant Engine” name ? Anyway- a V8 wouldn’t fit in a Wrangler, uh, until they needed to one up the new Bronco just before release. ?

Yep as soon as Ford announced the 2.7 EcoBoost in the Bronco Jeep had to release the 392.

With the Final Edition coming I don't see the 392 prices dropping and wouldn't be surprised if they go up in a few years. Even if the Hurricane has more power/performance there are die hards out there that will always want the sound / character of a 6.4L NA.

I’ve got a TT I6 in my M2, getting 470hp at the wheels, so somewhere pushing toward 600 at the crank.

Not that I really care, but in the small 3800lbs car I’m getting 18mpg, MT. Can’t wait to see what it gets in the jeep ?

It’s honestly a pretty thrilling engine tho. I like it.
Yeah I'm waiting on a M3 allocation here... that S58 is unreal.

What makes you think a 392 weighs 6,500 pounds?

I would not bet on the HP/Torque numbers you have provided...WHY? The fact is the Jeep does not need it. The old TJ 6 with 37s and 4:88s will spank you so hard on the trail you will cry mama!

I would say 325 HP on the new 6 and just over 400 on Torque.

Back in the mid-80s thru the mid-90s I ran the Jeep 6 in my 85, 87, 91., 94, and 97. I was living and working up N and wheeled from Va to Maine, Canada, British Columbia, and Washington State. That Carb-6 did it for sure.. In those days I wheeled alone and that 6 even with the CARB would work like a rented mule. I did have a stick and 4:10 gears on some of them if it was an option. Sure the CARB special would been better with FI . But I put over 50k miles on my 94 and it did a great job.

Didn't they completely remove the shock towers ?

No, the 3.6L sucks. My 4.0L was a great engine. It actually had torque crawling.
Haha, that's some carried-over nonsense from almost 20 years ago now. Yes, the 4.0L had torque crawling, but not as much as the 3.6L. You just made my day, LOL ! ! ! !
