Ya - thats fair enough I guess. What if during your first oil change you realize that you don't have a skid plate and its clear that it was never there. Do you just say oh well - I signed off on it - silly me. Or do you go to the dealership and say where is my skid plate?
The difference is one is plainly obvious if you looked at and or test drove the vehicle before buying and the other is not. Also, they are not the same and that is a terrible comparison. The OP's Jeep does NOT say it comes with proximity entry. It says it come with Keyless Enter N GO (bad wording yes) which = Push button start. The window sticker (on mine at least) also clearly lists manual locks.

Do you honestly believe the OP didn't know or though that Jeeps have a magical system that allows manual locks to open just because you are close to them and have the key?

If it were that important to the OP he/she should have noticed before even purchasing the Jeep. My dealer said they filed my tank up but I think I got shorted 1 or 2 gallons..............

I get the OPs position, I just don't know what the resolution should be. Buy back? How does that help. He then has to go buy a more expensive Jeep to get what he wants. Dealer-installed Enter-N-Go? I doubt the parts are even available and I'm not sure I would trust the dealer to do it. A custom-built base Sport with fancy door locks? That seems unlikely. A check? A nice Mopar T-Shirt?

I understand both sides. But I think that both positions have been well-stated at this point.

The only thing left is to see how it is resolved.

I just picked up a new 2018 Ocean Blue Sport JL on Saturday. The window sticker states that the vehicle is supposed to be equipped with Keyless Enter 'n Go. I place my hand, with the fob in my pocket, on the door handle and the door won't open. Am I doing something wrong?

UPDATE: JEEP HAS AGREED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. I WILL POST THE RESOLUTION ONCE THE WORK IS FINISHED.

Hey man. Same problem here. Like you, I'm gonna press the point, but some far have been stonewalled. If you've already pioneered the way, can you share what you did and what the resolution was with the rest of us?

I run a call center, and every case has a ticket or case number, so I'm sure you have one, too. If you could get your case number and share that info with us, that would be helpful because then we could refer to that as precedence.

I've been trying to get in touch with tdog regarding this and he appears to be fairly quiet. Makes me think that (A) he has given up, or (B) jeep made things right with him (whatever that means), or (C) he has obtained legal council and has been advised not to talk about it publicly any more.

Predictions?

I doubt he's actually gotten a lawyer for this, but I am curious to see what Jeep's actual reaction to this is.

My prediction is A) He has given up

There is nothing there. The legal description of 'Keyless Enter N Go' is basically push start, I assume the window sticker, like mine, clearly states manual locks...

It's not rocket science and this was nothing more than attempt to scam Jeep out of something for free. Does anyone honestly believe that you can buy a $40K car, never test drive it, never look at the features, or lack thereof, sign the purchasing paperwork and still not have a clue on what the car comes equipped with?

Not arguing but regarding to the legal description I believe their (FCA's) trademark - which this is - describes it differently... and as far as not knowing whats there... I went over the standard list of options on mine and did not verify 80% of them... and I am not sure who can honestly say they did. Things like 3 skid plates - I didn't get under my jeep before buying... or air bags - I certainly hope they are there.

I don't know if the above means that FCA owes anybody anything but I wouldn't fault anyone who assumed their sticker was accurate.

So if your Jeep said it came with power locks and it didn't you would have never noticed?

The sticker WAS accurate. It listed Keyless Enter N GO = Push start.....

If the OP were talking about something non obvious like an air bag missing then I'd agree Jeep needs to make it right.. In this instance the fact as to if the Jeep has power doors or not, has power windows or not ect is glaring, obvious and staring you right in the face..

This is a scam and an attempt to get something for free.. Nothing more. I hope @JeepCares told him / her to go pound sand...

Everyone's different. But to answer if I didn't get handed a keyfob with lock/unlock/etc... on it... and I wasn't purchasing bare bones then I would notice. That said the Sport S does has power everything and does not list manual locks.

A trademark isn't what you or I say or think it is. It has a written description and it is a term they have spent money to ensure that others cannot use. This description - as described in the JL video - and on all of their other vehicles - is what we JL owners know (or have come to know) as proximity entry.

FCA made a mistake. They have fixed their mistake on all future sticker. These are facts. Whether or not they have to compensate anyone for their mistake is the only thing up for opinion.

A Typo.

They corrected "Keyless Enter N Go" to "Keyless Go" thus removing any further potential for people to try to make a loophole.

That's not a mistake in my book as the description (while I agree poorly worded) is accurate. I can in fact enter my vehicle and go without removing the key from my pocket. Now this statement from me assumes I know I purchased manual locks (which I did) and it assumes I know the Jeep is not magical and that since I have manual locks this can only be done if the door is left unlocked.....

To each their own I suppose... This is an attempt at a scam and nothing more...

I assume based on some of the responses that it's reasonable to believe the OP had no clue whatsoever that his / her Jeep came with manual locks?

They listed Keyless Enter n Go on all Sport and Sport S stickers when they meant Keyless Go. Both of these are trademarked terms so what you or I think they mean is irelevant. They have since corrected stickers to say Keyless Go.
