Totally geeky e-torque motor info.

Maybe, but I honestly can't figure it out. The Ram website states 130lb/ft torque for the 5.7 v8 and other places confirm, with 90lb/ft for the v6..

"It provides a brief torque boost of 90 lb-ft in V-6 RAMs and 130 lb-ft in V-8 models."

https://greencarjournal.com/technology/how-ram-etorque-works/

Wait, found it! Think this would explain how they get 90lb/ft of torque from the 45 created by the generator..

"It does provide power to initially start the vehicle moving — 12 horsepower for the V-6 and 16 for the V-8. Torque output of 39 lb/ft for the V-6 is multiplied by the belt drive to create a 90 lb/ft assist and the V-8 version creates 49 lb/ft, again multiplied by the belt for an assist of 130 lb/ft."

https://www.vehicleservicepros.com/.../a-look-at-the-ram-1500-etorque-a-mild-hybrid

You'd think this would be interesting shit that Jeep/Ram would want to advertise and more clearly explain to consumers themselves. ?‍♂
I've seen these numbers listed:
5.7 = 130 lb.ft.
3.6 = 90 lb.ft.
2.0 = 70 lb.ft.

The torque multiplication by the belt is probably used for marketing purposes to get the BSG's rating at the crankshaft. Also I've always thought that the larger motor (with more rotating mass) is what dictates more torque... so that the restart times are similar.

What I really want to know is if the 130 lb.ft. unit can be Frankensteined onto my 2.0, and made to operate until about 2,500 crankshaft RPM.

Didn't they have the eTorque available on the 2.0T for like a year or so? Not really sure why they decided it was no longer necessary, but maybe it's possible to retrofit everything from a junked model. Would probably be a major headache, though.

IIRC 2.0 etorque was 2018-2020, ending the same time that 4xe became available probably due to product overlap... Why have a mild-hybrid 2.0 when you also offer a PHEV 2.0 (ignoring 2-doors of course). Plus I think Jeep realized people were willing to pay more for the 3.6.

My Jeep is a 2.0 eTorque 2018 2-door. It has the 1-year only larger 2-door gas tank (engine skid complications) and the 48V battery closer to the rear differential than the 4-doors (diff skid complications)... good times.

What's the capacity on the larger tank?? Never even heard of that ever being a thing, but think I'd rather frankenstein that onto my vehicle than a larger BSG (not really sure if they're actually different motors). Even just another gallon or two would be nice.

Ahoy, I'm the guy who wrote up the e-torque post, feel free to send questions if i have any answers. The writeup is incomplete as waking up the motor has been surprisingly difficult
I don't know if this will help, but we have mapped a bunch of the canbus messages in our Jeeps.
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...-can-c-can-ihs-uds-reverse-engineering.82139/

If you look through the thread, a few people posted can message dumps from their Jeeps. I'd bet we do have a 2.0 etorque in there.

2018 only 18.5 gallons
2019+ 17.5 gallons

It's enough of a difference to cause interference with the M.O.R.E. engine skid (they may have fixed it by now)

Oh man! I'm jealous ?
That's my only real complaint of my 2dr....
The peanut gas tank!
Last month I completed a 4800mi road trip, and I lost count of fuel stops at around 8,940! ??

Oh yeah... MPG starts to matter more when you have shit range.
Yeah, if I didn't have that etorque battery opposite the fuel tank, I could get one of those cool aftermarket auxiliary fuel tanks... but No!!! ?
