What is lost when you disco the SGM?
My guess, is that the FCA tool won't work without it connected or will give an error when the dealer plugs in...just a guess though

One feature they need to add to the Tazer. Ability to change the default brightness of the VDU's. When the wipers are on or when the headlights first come on before it gets very dark, the displays are too dim to see.

Just installed mine tonight and honestly didn't do much other than change my tire size. Dispointing for the price as I could have had my dealer do it for free.

I now have a bright red LED constantly on my dash (similar to the alarm LED on the JK, maybe it's the same). So that's cool.

Selected to disable my TPMS system and yes the light on the cluster is now off however it tells me I still have a tpms malfunction every time I start the Jeep and my radio tells me my tire pressure is low. This was honestly almost the whole reason I bought it.... If anyone has input on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Did you follow the instructions and first marry the Debbie to the Jeep? Also, after making the changes did you do a full reboot of the system using the reboot menu item?

Also, your dealer can't make the change for free unless they are willing to eat the $100 fee that fca charges them through the tool.

I'm curious if this programmer and others will eventually allow customizing the UConnect system itself, such as backgrounds, UI themes, fonts, etc. Put that kind of functionality in there and in a way that doesn't require me to keep the unit permanently installed and I'd be happy to shell out the $300 price tag.

However, it's only a matter of time before AEV, Superchips, and everyone else comes out with a unit that'll do all the same things this one does for under $200 and without the need to bypass things or leave hardware connected.
no they need a way to unlock the sgw, their product will be even more $$

It is married yes, I however didn't do the full reboot, just the soft reboot by holding the left arrow and cruise resume buttons (the 25 second reboot) I thought a full reboot was only necessary if you changed radio settings.

Can't you just change that brightness with the track wheel that is on the dash next to the headlight wheel?

After watching the light shows, I had an idea. I'd love to see to see a feature where the center tail light above the spare tire blinks or flashes 3 or 4 times then stays on, whenever you apply the brakes. I've seen it on delivery and utility vehicles. It makes a nice wake up call for cars behind you.

It changes the brightness range. Basically it's at full brightness. You can make it brighter by turning off the headlights, but then it's too bright.

I have to say what a great product this is. The company is so receptive to feedback and quick to answer questions. We need more companies like this. Coming from Superchips who basically either won't give you a straight answer or will otherwise dodge questions entirely, it's a welcome change.

All -

I’m making this public since there is a lot of blatant nonsense and misinformation being spread by certain users. Long standing JLWF members know we have made great efforts to build the best JL community anywhere, providing our users with all the JL (and JT) related info/content from our inside contacts, vehicle tracking services and general support once orders are placed.

All of this comes at significant cost. Instead of charging users for premium membership like other forums, we run Google ads and take on sponsors who contribute to the community by sharing their technical knowledge, providing forum discounts and customer service for our users.

In turn for their financial support which keeps the site running and allows us to make necessary maintenance and upgrades, we allow these authorized sponsors to advertise their products/services on the site. However, we also allow products/services of non-sponsors to be discussed, as clearly seen all over forums (and evidenced by this thread and similar threads which we do not delete/close), as this broad and open sharing of information is what has made JLWF successful. However, certain posting patterns rise to the level of by-proxy advertising for non-sponsors - such as repeated posts by a single member encouraging purchases, promoting a vendor, sharing vendor contact information, or relaying info/quotes directly from the vendor.

Finally, I want to make clear I do NOT receive any personal favors, free products or individual discounts on any products or services offered by our sponsors or any other vendors. We also do not censor users’ posts to remove any negative comments about our sponsors or “protect” our sponsors by editing content. Sponsors who have their own subforums do have editorial control over their own subforums only.

I ask that if you have any issues or further questions please direct them to me via PM instead of taking these threads off-topic and derailing technical discussion. Thanks!

So basically if you talk up a product too much there is no incentive for the maker of said product to become a sponsor. Other potential sponsors may see that and not bother to become a sponsor either. Thus it affects revenue flow. Nothing wrong with that. Frankly I’m impressed with what we can say given some other forums on the internet.
