Technically you can wave to all Jeeps... it’s a Jeep Wave, not a Wrangler Wave.

Now I wave to all Jeeps at the cottage, but only Wranglers in the city (otherwsie my hand would never be only the wheel since every other vehicle in Calgary is a Jeep), plus people in town wouldn’t know why I was waving, whereas we know half the people at the cottage (which still has a high concentration of Jeeps, hey it’s Canada, eh!)

The JT is still city-wave worthy to me as it’s still a Wrangler, I don’t expect many returns at the start, but if we keep doing it I’m sure they’ll catch on.

Remember the Wave is an outward expression, and either you wave or you don’t, you do it to spread the Jeep-love not to get something in return; a returned wave is just a nice bonus.

The only way the wave dies is if y’all find an excuse to stop waving yourselves and you let it die.

I pretty much wave all the time to wranglers, except when I am at the beach, because they are all over, and no one there seems to for that reason. I never thought of waving to other non-wrangler jeeps, always saw it as a wrangler thing. Wranglers may be part of the jeep family, but they are an entity unto their own. And that is not an "I am an elitist wrangler owner" thing, far from it, I just think it is a reality that is neither right or wrong. I don't think I ever remember a non-wrangler jeep owner waving at me.

The JT will still get the wave, since it'll look exactly like a JL when approaching. Especially when the top is off!

I know I'm going to be waving like a homecoming princess in a parade when I get mine!

Yep JT will for sure get the wave if it keeps the Wranglers front end.

I wave at all Wranglers and modified Jeeps. Stock Cherokees, Grand Cherokees, Liberties, Renegades, Compass, Patriots, etc get passed up as its mostly Dads, Moms, teens driving those, not so much enthusiasts.

Is there a Canadian equivalent for the tread lightly program?
I was directed by my insurance company, Allstate, to use Unhaggle.com . Not sure if it's dealer invoice, but here is
below is my quote. The dealer did reply and will honour the quote. You do have to specify a dealer. (and no laughing from the US on our lovely Canadian taxes...) Looks like you can actually use the site independently also.

Canadians (AKA The Most Polite People in the World), always tread lightly then apologize after.
Except in times of war, then we tread Heavily... apologize... and then help to rebuild afterwards.

I am planning on ordering a 2018 JL. Is there any downside to paying the $100 Tread Lightly membership?

Thanks.

Just joining Tread Lightly itself is a good thing, they promote stewardship of the trails, and act as a voice and lobby group for off-roaders’ continued access to open spaces and managed lands.

For Wrangler pricing it is helpful to provide a good base price for negotiating below invoice. There are other deals for current and former service people, as well as discounted fleet pricing which may get you a cheaper price. However, if you have no other affliliations that get you discounts, then it’s a good starting point.

What do we know about the steel bumper? Are they basically the same as the hard Rock, 10a bumpers?

We don’t know for sure, but from the info in the User Guide / Owners Manual it appears to be the same 10A bumper. We just haven’t seen it on any of the test mules, so it’s hard to be more certain/reassured about that assumption.
