Let us know how it looks... we'd all like to avoid adding insult to injury.
My dealer looked for less than 30 seconds and made an appointment to repaint the passenger door, driver side hood hinge and hood. I have an aftermarket hood blackout panel on my hood though, which will clearly need to come off. Anyone know if FCA will replace that, or is that on me now? I hate this... the Jeep is only 17 months old, and he said they have been told by FCA to refinish “panel by panel” wherever it happens and will only replace the panel if the problem returns. The paint shop guy I spoke with said “it’s not rust—it’s just water trying to get out because we live under the hot sun of Florida”. What? This is the 7th new car I’ve purchased here, and none of them felt the need to shed water through the paint. And my Jeep is garaged. I guess that’s supposed to make me feel better. GrrrrrI just dropped my Jeep off and I’m really nervous that the door won’t be restored back to factory condition.
