I have the Sport S, so can't answer the other questions but I love the 3.6 etorque, great engine and smooth as they get. As stated above Willys has more comforts than the Willys sport. Whatever you get you will love it. Good luck!

Any feedback on Sahara?
Well I have the Sahara 4xe so I can’t comment on the engine choices. But the trim level is very similar to a regular Sahara. It’s the “kinda luxury” version. Leather, nicer electronics, body colored fenders and more high-end options. But it still drives and performs like a Wrangler. The Sahara comes with larger rims and thinner rubber than the other trims, which makes it more street-oriented and less off-road oriented. But the Sahara is still highly capable for light or medium off-roading. And of course you can modify it into a hardcore offroad jeep.

The anti spin rear axle and full-time 4hi auto typically shine the most when driving in the snow, especially on roads that keep toggling back and forth between dry and slippery surfaces. The only other benefit of anti spin, is that it upgrades the Jeep to the larger Dana 44 rear axle vs the standard 35. For driving in sand, 4hi auto isn't necessary. You'll want to be in regular part-time 4hi because both axles stay engaged until you shift back to 2hi. That will maximize traction vs the front axle only engaging after the rear wheels start spinning from loss of traction. It's generally better to not lose traction in the first place, which is why part-time is better than full-time in the sand.

Can I get a bigger tire with more threads if I don’t go for XR option?
?— no, Don’t underbuy, it will cost more to upgrade, Willys XR gets you the tires and wheels you want, the proper gears in 44’s to run them, LSD, spare relocation-reinforcement. Plus lift, HD brakes, high flares. Without warranty issues. Upgrading gears, tires, and relocation to my pre XR cost almost as much as the XR pkg (392 came with a lift and beadlock capable wheels or add ~$4K my cost - edit- and flares) It’s a damn good deal. Also, in an emergency situation a mashed throttle and the front axle pulled me straight once, I would not of had time to shift, recommend 4-Auto

I too live in Florida and have put thousands of miles on two Jeeps with the 2.0. I’ve noticed zero difference between 93 and 87. The owners manual says 87 or higher. If I was towing a great distance, I would used 93.

It Is designed to run 87 octane.

I currently have a Rubicon with the 2.0, my wife has a Sahara with the 3.6. They are both excellent, but I prefer the 2.0 both on and off-road. It has more torque than the 3.6 - but the latter is ALSO an excellent choice.

My research has not shown that the 2.0 has more problems.

Willys offers the best overall value in the entire JL lineup, and the XR package is pretty compelling. Especially the lower gearing. The stretched suspension “lift” gets mixed reviews, though. A Mopar lift appears to be a better setup.

I drive a Sahara V6 automatic on 35s: it is a sweet ride.

The differences between Sahara and Willys, when optioned similarly, are mostly in comfort and convenience.

Notably, the items Sahara gets you that you can’t get on Willys:
  • Additional sound deadening under the hood and on the firewall
  • Softer shocks and tires
  • Cushier materials throughout the interior, especially the armrests. Sahara armrests have extra padding and stitching. When you get the base leather interior, all that leather and stitching is extended throughout the cabin, plus you get a fold-down rear armrest. Be aware, though, that ordering the Mopar leather eschews the rear center armrest and the leather on the dashboard
  • The side steps used to be standard on Sahara; they are now a $95 option. I am a big fan of those sides steps. In addition of providing a wide, solid step, they protect the sides of your Jeep from flying rock and debris, and from wandering shopping carts hitting your vehicle
  • You also get the painted fenders, which not only look better IMO, but I also find easier to keep looking clean
  • A fancier grille with inserts

Only you know if these differences matter to you. But I figured I’d point them out since most buyers are unaware of what they are.

Good luck.

Thank you. Is the sahara one don’t have built in AC?

Aldo, I’ve always wondered about the Sahara shocks. My wife has a 2020 Sahara JLU. Her build sheet says “Heavy Duty Suspension w/Gas Shocks.” It felt no different than my base 2018 Sport, or my 2021 Rubicon (all four door). All of these vehicles we lifted with Fox 2.0 shocks, with a noticeable improvement. I’ve tried to research the difference with the Sahara shocks, but found nothing tangible from trusted websites, including Jeep.com. What is the real deal with this? Thanks!

Thank you all for all the feedback. Planning to buy 2.0 turbo engine either sahara or sport latitude with all terrain tires and sun riders - not much difference as per my understanding except sahara has better Sound system and bigger touchscreen but sport latitude will be 7k less. Though my personal favorite is willy with ER, but reviews suggest that it will bit bumpy and may not be any use if you don’t go off road. However Willy with ER and sahara coming at same price
