Also, some of those extra charges will still be there because dealers have already done those things to their in-stock inventory.
Don't walk, run away! Telling you a dealer add-on is compulsory is a devious sales practice at best and potentially against the law. It may be a standard practice of the dealership but certainly not required or mandated by the manufacturer. This is pure profiteering by the dealership. Hopefully, you can find an honest straight forward dealership that is relatively local but don't be afraid to do business with an out of state dealer. Lot's of folks on this site, including myself, have done so and can advise on the process and things to watch for/ be aware of to ensure you have a good experience. Good luck!

This is why I went with the order route. Get what I want and nothing that I don't. It also helps if your jeep salesman is also a jeep driver. Mine is and also told me none of that protection crap is needed and to put that money toward a good functional mod.

Yes one in Lakeland- I will go there today
Did you mention you wanted larger tires? If going with the Sahara, the gearing may not be desirable for going larger. You had mentioned the Willys XR previously and that is already regeared to 4:56 and has beefier axles. I'm not an expert but many on here would be able to help you with advice in this.

Thank you, but what I have understood ER will be not a good option for regular city drive. So I planned for Sahara 18 inch all terrain tires

I’m not an expert either, but yes Sahara, Sport and Willys come standard with 3.45 gearing.

In my experience, the most you want to run with that gearing are 33-34 inch tires.

Good idea. There are numerous dealers within a two hour radius of Tampa.

No need to go to see them in person. Everything can be done over the internet and phone once you know the configuration you want.

Get quotes from all. Then use these as leverage. Contact Dayton at Galeana Jeep. They will give at least 4% under invoice with a TreadLightly affiliation. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/dealers-below-invoice-on-2022-wranglers.80479/page-88 May even go lower than that.

See if other dealerships will beat that price.
I have called the current dealer and told that I will cancel my booking, now they are offering me 2000 rebates if I take finance from them and trade any post 2017 car. I am planning to take some quotes from others and will try to bargain further

Sahara is great stock for city driving, can still do stuff off road also. Buddy had one and it road pretty well compared to my Rubicon. Not sure if they have a different suspension or just the tires.

I daily drive a Willys XR and my gf has a stock Willys and the drives are comparable. For 35's, the XR drive is smooth imo.

The original post was deciding between a Sahara or Willys XR which have 4.56 gearing and the OP also hinted at adding larger tires if the XR wasn't picked.

This dealer will get you on the financing and trade-in too. Make financing and trade-in a separate piece of the negotiation. Settle upon a price, first.

Very good idea.

Thank you all, I got a dealer discount of 6% from Lakeland Dodge and no additional forced package from dealer, 60k reduced to 54k, though I will loose my initial advance but then also it will be great savings. I have to register in tread lightly for 100 usd to get the 6% discount- which will be fine.
I will ask my current dealer tomorrow to do a price match or I will cancel my order.

Last and final suggestion before I order my final vehicle tomorrow- can anybody suggests that is the Willy with ER will be bumpy on roads? I will go rarely to off road, so technically I don’t need ER , but I like the look. The only reason I have changed my selection from Willy with ER to Sahara because some people told me in road/ city traffic ER is not a pleasant drive particularly for the passengers. Thoughts please
