Long story but will keep it as short as I can.

I have a 2025 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door, Extreme Recon Package. Joose. Sticker was $54k, paid mid 40's. Did a Carvana quote for giggles and then quoted me $23, 200 for it. It has 2500 miles and was bought just 3 months ago. This is CRAZY! This is $31k under sticker and about $20k less than I paid 3 months ago. Is Jeep resale really this bad nowadays? I even had to do a manual estimate and speak with someone at Carvana as it was so new. No damage, no issues, even had it serviced already.

It's probably a glitch in their system. My 22 with 48k was just offered $35k. Carvana doesn't really know what an XR package is. You should just keep it for a couple years anyway.

I'm considering selling my 2021 2dr Willys soft top 2.0L with 16,000 Miles and Carvana's offer was $27,400.

Exactly. People say things like "they want simpler cars", "they don't need power everything", "I prefer manual for my commute to work", etc....but they don't really mean it. Certainly not for a mainstream vehicle.

That's why Jeep stopped offering Wranglers without AC, without power windows and without big screens. They are unsellable. And that is why Slate will be DOA, beyond the few curiosity buyers.
I bought my 21 JLU BECAUSE it has manual locks, manual windows, the 5" dump screen, and half a dozen other things that won't break as easy. It does have ac. But only for the wife. I am taking the top off of i get hot

I know it’s not the same but I just traded in my white sport stick with literally not a single option in the sticker for $26700 with 3200 miles. 2024 that I got in May of 24’… I paid $29500 for it before taxes and tags and they current have it listed on their site for $31k lol.

A couple of days ago Carvana offered me $32K for my 2021 2 door 6 speed loaded rubicon with 35k mi that I bought over a year ago for $34k. Not bad.

Tried a few sites as I'm getting ready to trade in:
2012 JK Sport 2 Door, Hard Top, Automatic, 27K miles, Light Use/Great condition. Ready to finally unload for a JL at this point.

Bought for $27,500 in 2012.

Offers/Estimates for Purchase:
KBB Average ~$12,600
CarMax = $10,000
Carvana=$9,000

At $10,000, with 17,500 Depreciation over 13 years = -$1,346.15/year

yours is definitely not calculating correctly for some reason - mine just came to $27K for a '22 Willys 2-door 4cyl hardtop with 15k mi

Kbb won't value a 2025, but here's a loaded 2024 with the same mileage estimate from them. Literally what you paid private party sale. As the dealer you're reaching out to to sell your basically brand new Jeep there's only a few logical scenarios. You realized you can't afford it, now I get to bend you over. You realized you hate it and/or the reason 2drs don't sell is that the back seat is barely functional and if you do use it you have less cargo space than a Honda civic so you need a different vehicle, and I get to bend you over. There's something wrong with it so I need to low ball you enough to fix it and still turn a profit. Or lastly, you're window shopping and wasting my time so I'll give you a terrible offer so you go away.

Do your guys think that loaded with options Jeeps hold their value better than the basic offerings? I see a lot of people mention this when they are disappointed by resale values.

As a % of msrp generally the different options and even trims (sport vs willys vs Rubicon) they tend to hold value pretty equally. Obviously the $32k stripped base model will be worth less than the $64k loaded Rubicon...by about half at any point.

Do they really hold value equally? That would be nice. You hear this from young, first-time new car buyers a lot. It seems like the more loaded cars, in general, seem to lose value faster. The 392 seems to crash 40% pretty fast, anecdotally at least.

The initial price tag doesn‘t matter really. That’s just the amount you’ve tied up in a depreciating liability, though a necessary and sometimes fun one. But the depreciation over years is more important as cars progress toward that inevitable $0.00 at varying rates.

I could see how unloading a less expensive car, on price conscious used car buyers, would be easier.

Anyone who treats or thinks their vehicle is any type of investment is a fool.
Buy it, keep and maintain it, until it's not worth the expense, hopefully years later and start the process again.
Don't get a loan longer than 60 months.

For context, one of the reasons I decided to place a factory order was because my dealer's lot stock was comprised of heavily-optioned Rubes and Saharas, with the occasional Willys to be seen. Virtually all were hardtops w/tinted glass. Their inventory was expen$ive from stem to stern.

When I made inquiries, my salesman confirmed my hunch that they configure their orders to match what most folks say they want, and actually purchase.

What he told me was borne out when he offered me a fair deal on a customer refusal JLU. It seems that the husband didn't tell his wife that he had ordered a Sport. When they arrived at the delivery appt. and she discovered the presence of manual locks, mirrors and windows, she refused to co-sign the loan ppwrk. That in turn prevented them from taking possession of the vehicle.

It's the rare used Wrangler that I see that isn't a Sahara or at least a tarted-up Sport S, with price listings to match.

UPDATE: I did take it to Carmax (had to see what was happening) and was offered $36500 which is about a 15% decline from what I paid new for this 2 door Joose Xtreme Recon Willys model. Much better.
