Retired Re-Engineer (tool & die maker)
Retired for nearly 20 years now, but back in the day, after military obligation was finished, I spent 38 years building the things that make the things! That would include injection molds, jigs, fixtures, and misc. tooling, but most of those years were spent building/altering/maintaining some pretty elaborate progressive dies.

I started as an apprentice working for the Deutsch Company, Electronic Components Division when run by the original Deutsch family. Most of the connectors they sold were for military and civilian aviation, plus space and satellite goodies.

Three years before I was hired, the company had survived a huge layoff after the Apollo 1 space capsule fire killed three astronauts and the company was left guessing if one of their connectors had caused it, but no blame came from that.

The Deutsch Company was not known for paying journeyman tool & die makers well, so off to a neighboring job shop I went where I ended up spending 30 years. That shop worked for large companies supplying tooling and mostly connector parts to other big name connector companies like Cannon and Amphenol, GM/Delphi, Foxconn, and even small companies like Cray Supercomputers.

One of the board members of that job shop, who was in his 80's when I started working there, was friends with Albert Einstein!

But nope, no clear connection to Jeep or Stellantis, although present day TE Connectivity Deutsch connectors may find their way into them!

Heavy equipment truck driver. Ive taken my work truck on roads that were barely wide enough for my jeep, much less a semi w/48ft lowboy. I took my wife to one of my delivery sites in our jeep and she couldn’t believe I got my rig in there.

Commercial polluter, expelling diesel fumes for 4+M miles. …. Well, it was a living.
Where I grew up, your title would have been “Professional Tourist” :CWL:

engineering geologist:
often out pioneering dirt roads to get drill rigs in
or back hoes for test pits
then grading jobs chasing around scrapers dozers and such

some just pure cross country on sites yet to be developed like solar fields in the desert

used to be a bit more “wild west” but now a lot of my area has been built out

Retired from the Army after 31 years. Started out as a TOW missile gunner, transitioned to a crash rescue firefighter, and then spent my last 23 years as a CH-47 Pilot (Chinook).

My current career didn’t take me far, I am now a contractor working at my last duty station as an instructor pilot.

Mine kinda sucks, not Jeepy at all, I am in computers. That's why I jump into my Jeep at every opportunity I get. Learning about thingies in my Jeep puts a big smile on my face. Transfer case fluid change here I come this weekend 🤩👍

Retired LEO
LEO for 36 years in IA and MN. Now retired. EMT-A, ERT, Paramedic and First Responder while a LEO. My last 10 years I've been a bum. I now coach a HS Clays Shooting Team.

Had an "old style" Durango as a squad and spent a fair share of time patrolling off the beaten path.

One of my best memories is drifting one of these around and icy corner on an airfield. Nothing wakes you up and gets your heart racing like sliding a 60k lb truck sideways and driving through the corner.
