You are not alone! My JL Rubicon just sat at the dealer for 2 weeks and they couldn't reproduce the intermittent audio pausing that my jeep is having. I just picked it up today and geewhiz there's the problem again, imagine that. I heard that the official line right now is to tell customers that if there is no error code, then there is no error. I researched this on YouTube from others that are having the same problem and they said their dealers didn't help them either. Dealers were replacing radios only to have the problem happen again. It is a software issue. My jeep didn't do this until the November update. Additionally, it seems to be only occurring cold weather. It also doesn't do it in accessory mode, engine off. I'm fed up. I'm trading mine off soon.
Exactly my issue - this is what I just wrote in my post. They have ordered me a new radio but I am concerned it won't fix the issue. I thought I was imagining the fact that it is a cold weather issue but now I know I am not crazy.

We are all going to have to move to warm climates so our radios can work. Other than this issue - I love my Rubicon and would keep it with no radio. That's not to say I am happy with this build/quality issue. For a 50k vehicle I expect working parts.

Check your fuses for being loose/ half seated in the engine compartment.
Yes check this. I did this the day i brought my jeep home and every single fuse needed to be seated. I had seen a lot of posts about it but was still surprised they were all loose like that.

@JeepCares

So new Jeep JL owner here and have experienced the following items in the past month with my 8.4 inch radio. I'm sure others have the same problems, and wondering if/when they will get fixed.

Issue 1. No sound from Radio.
Fix: Click FM, AM, then it starts working.

Issue 2. Green screen when backing up.
Fix: Resolved on its own after coming out of Reverse, which cycled the camera off/on.

Issue 3. Radio/Controls completely useless with Radio/uconnect stuck on one station and volume. Mute button did not work, neither did anything else. The Screen Off button worked though.
Fix: After about 15 minutes, radio/uconnect went back to normal.

Issue 4. Sound volume very low. Turning up to the max of 30 was similar to around 15 when working. Sub had no sound. Bluetooth call was very low. Button click sounds were quite loud though.
Fix: Powered car off, went and had dinner. Came back in about 1 hour and it was back to normal.

UPDATE

Dropped off my JL this morning at the dealership to look at these issues. Had Issue 1 on video. Also told them about another issue that I've heard people mention regarding the voice vibrations coming from the driver side lower speaker.

I will report back on what they say.

I have this issue on mine too. New Rubicon and about 50% of the times when I start my car the radio cuts in and out. Seems to be more pronounced in colder weather (under 25 degrees) but that could be my imagination. The dealership made me bring it in when it was occurring (which for a few days the radio simply wouldn't cooperate and played fine) but after a few days (as is typical since the second week I have owned it) the radio started cutting in and out. It happens whether I am using the radio, blue tooth or my iPhone (so not an antenna issue). It is one big hassle as I never know when I will have radio (its a crap shoot). Anyhow, I hustled over to the dealership last week so they could hear it for themselves. They ordered me a new BUT it is going to take 3 weeks to arrive. My concern is that it isn't the radio but a connection that is the issue (and regardless of the new radio I will have the same problem). This is the down side to buying a new model year. This is clearly a glitch.
In my case, I had the same problem. Solution from the FCA regional service person was to install a new back up camera. Check the other threads on this. In my 9th week with the new camera, have had no problems with audio cutting in and out since camera replacement.

Update 5/15

Got Jeep back this morning. Radio issues not fixed due to this response:

"A bus sleep cycle corrects the concern. Engineering is working on a root cause."

So my service advisory is supposed to let me know when the updated/fix is available. Also unsure how to tell what version of uconnect my jeep has. Maybe someone else knows how to get this info?

For the vibration issues, they added foam around the speaker itself. Seems to have helped thus far.

I have had the same issues since mid-June. Have been told multiple times by FCA that it is a software update, have been given multiple false release dates. Almost daily my screen and controls will freeze for a period up to 5 minutes before rebooting. At random times, I will get a blue screen instead of the camera when shifting into reverse. My SiriusXM favorites list never populates. I will get a notification that a favorite is playing, but when going to the list, the list is blank.

We bought a Sahara a few weeks ago, our first Jeep! We began experiencing UConnect issues right away: radio changing stations, switching to Media (but nothing was there), back up camera comes on while we are driving, it begins rapidly scrolling through radio stations and apps all by itself, turns on the heated seats and steering wheel, turns off abruptly. It's as if it has been hacked or possessed! It does this about half of the time we are in it. We have already taken it to the dealer several times. We are getting the run-around, with service people saying they can't do anything about it, the dealership can't do anything about it, and that Jeep can't do anything about it. That is unsatisfactory! We had no idea these issues existed. We paid a lot (and traded in my husband's BMW) to get a new vehicle with a faulty "brain"! Leaving it off is not an acceptable solution--UConnect controls so many features. I regret buying it already. We will be pursuing other recourse options if this isn't fixed promptly.

I have captured 2 issues thus far with Uconnect and uploaded the vids to youtubes:

"Radio volume" is extremely low. Button mash sounds loud as volume increases, however radio volume is low.

"Radio volume" is normal. Button mash sounds match volume level.

No audio until you press AM.

Sounds like you should be able to get FCA to buy the Jeep back under the Lemon Law. Might be time to lawyer up.

This may sound odd, but I've found that when my doors are off, the "Radio volume" issue is happening a lot now. Something is broken and needs to be fixed as this is extremely annoying!
