Well, my radio (8.4) after (3) years decided to act up like nothing before.
The radio changes channels and apps on it's own, continually.
I've found if I touch a channel then quickly hit the app page, it stays.
If I hit traffic or off roads it will eventually stay.
I disconnected the fuse, waited several minutes and started the motor. Everything was reset back, so I had to add everything back. The comfort controls and back up camera did not work until I turn the motor off then back on.
It worked, but once starting it a few hours later, the same problem.
Go figure...

Well poop...the temperature dropped here over the weekend ...radio stopped working today. The black screen. Back up camera still worked. This is the factory refurbished unit jeep replaced the first one with. Not looking forward to this again. I purchased an extended warranty (2018 JL, sport S, so the lowest end unit). Thankfully none of my other controls for the creature comforts go thru the head unit. Debating to continue dealing with Jeep, or just replace with an aftermarket quality unit. ***After lunch, it was working again. Same thing as before, it will take longer and longer to start up when it's cold. Last time I just waited till a cold morning and drove it directly to the dealer....which stinks, because they are always backed up, behind and unsure when they can fit it in. Grrrr.......Since phones rule the world, I may just strap my Bluetooth JL audio speaker to the roof, plug it in and forget about the sub part jeep offerings.

you'll be happier in the long run just going aftermarket

Any suggestions that won't bankrupt me? I have the smallest unit, so double din size...I replaced my daughters radio with a cheap Amazon touch screen unit...which is perfect for her 2005 Scion, and first car...but no way I'd be satisfied with that.

It depends on how comfortable you are with custom audio. I managed to put in a Kenwood double din unit back a few years ago before anybody really made anything for the JL. If I were doing it again now, I'd go with the Alpine Restyle. It's mostly plug and play and will integrate easily.

2020 Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon 2.2L TD - "Jacko" Punk'n Orange (Old - 2010 Jeep KK Cherokee)
Update 1/29/2020

After the updated software above, issue 1 occurred this evening:

Issue 1. No sound from Radio.
Fix: Click FM, AM, then it starts working.

This is not that big of a deal because the fix is so easy. Just hoping that the extreme low volume issue does not return.

My 2020 Export Rubi had the same no sound issue from near new. Found the "AM" radio button fix here on JLWranglerForum and only had it repeat a few times in 3 years. Defiantly a software issues, some bug.

Hope the last patch sets you straight!

My 2018 JL Rubicon has lost audio / sound several times over the last couple years, rebooting uConnect normally fixed it. The other day I was listening to the radio and turned the Jeep off to go in to work. After work I starting driving when I noticed I had no audio / sound. So frustrated with these late model expensive Jeeps being unreliable or more bubbled paint to contend with.

Anyhow, I tried to pull the fuses F97 and 11 to reset uConnect to no avail. I have left the negative battery terminal off over night, reconnect in the morning, started the Jeep and went to work no audio. Turned off, and got audio. Opened the door and radio with audio still played loud and clear. After three days nothing - no audio when I start and drive. Funny thing is when I turn the Jeep off, before opening the door, the sound comes on. Start the car up and no sound, but turn it off and I get sound?

I have had five Jeeps and I think I'm done buying Jeeps. We pay alot of money for these Jeeps and they just dont work as they should. My 1978 CJ5 still works, i bet my 18 JLUR won't last five more years.

Anybody want to trade for a Bronco?

What can I do to reset the uConnect and get it to sync with the AMP?
