  1. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Doesnt appear to be related ...watched the oil pressure and ran up to 2900 quite few times....it would burble without the oil pressure moving ...but it was interesting to see the jump in pressure...never watched it....
  2. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I was mistaken earlier....the burble at 2900 rpm in third is still present. Found it on my way into DC. It is present if I'm just cruising slowly through third....if I'm on it, accelerating moderately, it isn't there. But, the clutch feel is better in the stop and go ..lower engagement point...
  3. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I asked for them to explain what was exactly done twice...first answer...parts are being replaced in the transmission....second answer, here, I will print the sheet for you....
  4. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

It isn't, if you are using it for wheeling, as it was intended....mine is a daily driver with occasional boat pulling duty ...I've pulled a few stuck vehicles out with it, but have never really beat on the clutch....but I think the majority of users/abusers probably replaced the stock clutch...
  5. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Just got home with mine (2018 JLU sport S, 43k miles). Stock tires and suspension. Noticeable difference. I can actually feel the clutch engage, right off the floor. Had to adjust my driving....been so used to letting the clutch out a lot more before it would engage. Whipped my head back the...
  6. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Yeah....but at least I got a loaner. Take a year now...LOL...I just wish someone there could tell me exactly what they are doing ...I never had issues with the clutch...smell, over heating...but I also dont "wheel' it... Pull a bass boat...some driving in a field occasionally...maybe some...
  7. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I ended up with a loaner....what should have taken " most of the day"....is going into 3. Asked the rep what was going on...he said this is the first one they have done, so they have to work a step, refer to the guidance, do the next step. As long as I don't end up in a ball of flame, and now...
  8. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

My 2018 is getting worked now. Started yesterday morning, I thought I'd have it back late afternoon...service department said it was taking longer than expected, and they really wanna put some miles on it to make sure it is perfect, before returning it....called them at lunch today....was told...
  9. Jeep is discontinuing manual

I will wear the insecure label. Jeep has 3 recalls warning against exploding pressure plates and fires around the clutch. I should have just hitched up my pants and ignored them. I mean, they only designed and created it. What do they know? I asked the service rep what this third safety recall...
  10. Jeep is discontinuing manual

Mine is currently getting the third? update/fix for the clutch...when I took it in for the first sleeve to protect against heat, the service guy asked me what was wrong with it, because it was so light...told him that was the way it is. If I decide to keep it after the extended warranty is...
  11. Death Wobble

Got it back yesterday. New dampener, two cpu updates. It was nice to get back on the gas on the freeway and not clench up at every bump. Scheduled for a clutch recall next week. I had the sleeve done on the last iteration....service rep said they are replacing parts and it will take a full...
  12. Death Wobble

I see stabilizers from 50$ to $300...I have zero non stock parts and no desire to lift or alter it. Any rationale to why one is better? The stock simple one has lasted 40k miles...
  13. Death Wobble

I may end up just replacing it myself....apparently they are readily available everywhere except through the dealership. Just chaps my @$$ that I've already paid for it with the extended warranty....
  14. Death Wobble

Longest 7-10 days....🙄 I called the service department to check up on the part ... apparently Jeep doesn't monitor silly things like shipping, so they have no way of knowing when they will get the part. LOL.
  15. Death Wobble

After a quick visit at the dealer, they will replace my steering damper under an issued TSB. There is also an update or two as well, but due to the strike, it will be 7-10 days for the part to arrive ...till then, I drive cautiously.
  16. Death Wobble

Never heard of DW until I became a jeep owner....but, in the motorcycle side, it's the dreaded tank slap. Never experienced that either. I can say that I love my jeep. I'm not a big off roader though. Sandy rivers, pull my bass boat, occasional icy snowy roads. If this is a normal...
  17. Death Wobble

Hooray....I thought I was special. Got my first DW last week on the highway driving to the eastern shore of VA/MD. I was doing about 70, and it quickly subsided....Then again yesterday...had to hit the brakes and slow way down...Stock 2018 JLU Sport. I have an appointment on Monday. As for...
