Weird uConnect/Radio issues/fix

5 months old 1,800 miles, I have experienced the no volume that switching to am fm fixed. Now yesterday I experienced the low volume issue, this morning it was okay and tonight it is low again.

I’ve experienced issue #4, low volume twice now. OP is correct in that it happens with doors off.

I’ve found that pulling Fuse #97 and plugging it back in “resets” it for normal volume operation but that’s a real PITA to do every time this issues crops up.

It is not just with the doors off.

Count me in for the warning buzzer sound that made the radio useless. I then pulled fuse f97 and the noise stopped. Then this morning the no volume then push AM and volume works again. Owned it less than 2 months. 2,000 miles. We shall see.....

No doubt. That’s just been my experience. Once I put the doors back on, if this keeps happening I’m not going to be happy about it.

Sorry to hear you are also experiencing this, captainstabbins. I certainly understand why it would be troubling. I recommend having this looked at by your local Jeep dealer if the concern persists, as they are in the best position to assist. And today I received a nice package via ups from FCA USA Affiliates Rewards encouraging me to “Crank up the tunes” FCA I CAN’T! you can’t make this up!

It is not just with the doors off.

I had my doors of and had the volume issue. Put doors back on pulled fuse 97 now things back to normal. We will see if the issues come back or not

I've been having same issues with speakers vibrating/crackling speakers, etc. Dealer already replaced speakers and amp. Radio still locking up and also volume issues! Doors on and off! I'm tired of going to dealer and having to rent a car. 50K for this aggravation? They ordered me a new radio but it sounds like it's a deeper issue still. And why is my dealer telling me this is the first they've heard of it?? I'm THE ONLY complaint they know about. Making me feel like I'm crazy even though i had 2 videos capturing the issues!

I'm having 2 issues, one where there is no sound at all, regardless of what I do (the AM thing does not work), and another where my satellite just drops non-stop sometimes. It happens in areas where I've never had issues with any other vehicle. Have it on the list to get checked out when I take it in next week for the steering damper 'Customer Satisfaction Notification' (aka 'recall...), so we'll see what they say. Wasn't told they haven't heard of this issue before, but the tone change in the service person's voice sure made it seem like it's not the first time they've dealt with it. I do have video of the no sound issue, trying to get it of the satellite, but not the easiest to do as it's totally random.

I have had #4 several times now. 1/2 level sound volume. Happens when doors are off and when doors are on.
It seems to me that it happens most when I plug my phone into the USB first and then start the jeep. Hitting FM, then AM doesn't do anything on mine. Letting it sit overnight returns the sound to normal volume.
Pulling fuse 97 fixes it immediately but then it takes some time for they SXM system to recognize I have an account.

So now that I've had my doors and top off my 2018 JLUR, I'm noticing the NO SOUND option, fixed it by clicking on the AM button. I've had my doors off for about 2 weeks now and this is the 4th time it has occurred...thought it was just me. It didn't seem to happen before when the doors are on but hope i don't have to mess with fuses.

The other issue with low sound has happened to me with or without doors, restarting the car eventually fixes it but is quite annoying when on long trips. Has only happened 2 or 3 times for the 1.6 years of ownership.

The latest Uconnect issue i'm experiencing is (doors off) the sound appears to be only coming from the passenger side, more specifically, passenger rear? Not sure what this was about but just happened this AM and went away after stopping for groceries and returning home.

Again...this is my first Jeep and hoping this is not what people are referring to when they say "it's a Jeep Thing"...for a $60K Wrangler Rubicon, was hoping to get better quality than this...
