I got the BSOD with intermittent audio as described for the first time today. Checked the fuses, everything looked good. Restarted the jeep and everything functioned as normal. Will just keep my eye on it for now.

Radio reset itself and now seems like the tuner is out. I have no stations or static on my radio. Anyone have this happen before??

There is definitely an issue with the 8.4" audio system. My 2018 Jeep JLU is about 4 months old. My first issue was when my Carplay suddenly stopped working. I called 'assist' and the very kind technician took me through a series of checks, but this did not work, so she recommended that I take the car to the dealer; so I did. When I took the Jeep to my dealer, they could find nothing wrong, but even as I drove the car off the lot, my Carplay continued to act erratic. Disgusted, i drove home (I was not about to turn around and take the car back to the same dealer who, 5 minutes earlier, had just sent me on my way!)

When I got home, I discovered that several bluetooth devices were trying to connect to my system, so, on a whim, I deleted them. And, lo and behold, everything seems to be working fine. The obvious question is however: "Why couldn't the service shop have told me this?" So far I'm not impressed.

Now, just today, my complete system seems to be not working AT ALL! I tried playing pandora through my Carplay, and even though the tracks are playing fine (as indicated by the time status bar), no sound is coming through the speakers. So I tried playing a normal radio station; the same result: no sound at all!

To the design team at Jeep: please address this. This is the first Jeep i've owned, and I LOVE every other aspect about the vehicle. But these erratic and intermittent audio/Carplay issues are (should be!) unacceptable--especially since my vehicle is barely more than 4 months old.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're having concerns with your radio. I would be happy to open a case for you and get this escalated to a Uconnect specialist. If you'd like, please send us your VIN, email, phone number, and mileage to get started.

I have the 5 in screen in my JL. I have owned the jeep for 3 weeks. after I drove off the lot the radio started shorting out and resetting itself. it happens everyday. It even happens while I'm on a call or during my commute to work. Payed 40k for my vehicle and this problem keeps occurring. Jeep is not taking responsibility as I have tried to contact them about it. I was referred to my local jeep dealer. I took it there to find out I had a recall on a couple of things but the radio did not throw any kind of code. I feel unappreciated as a Jeep consumer to have to go through this because there seems to be no fix for this. HELP!!!!

In my case, I had the same problem. Solution from the FCA regional service person was to install a new back up camera. Check the other threads on this. In my 9th week with the new camera, have had no problems with audio cutting in and out since camera replacement.
Is your radio still working properly after the camera replacement? I have noticed that whenever this issue occurs for me, the guide lines for the backup camera no longer appear on the video display.

Update 1/26/2020 for this issue:

Issue 4. Sound volume very low. Turning up to the max of 30 was similar to around 15 when working. Sub had no sound. Bluetooth call was very low. Button click sounds were quite loud though.

Dealership called me on Friday and set up a loaner for me to drop Brutus off in the morning. Seems they finally have a fix for the extreme low sound issue I've been having since day one. I will update this thread once they are done, and provide version numbers and such.

Only time will tell if this update has fixed all the issues I've had with my uConnect radio. Especially the extreme low volume problem.

I will continue to update this thread with any issues that pop up.

Update 1/29/2020

After the updated software above, issue 1 occurred this evening:

Issue 1. No sound from Radio.
Fix: Click FM, AM, then it starts working.

This is not that big of a deal because the fix is so easy. Just hoping that the extreme low volume issue does not return.

I have had the same problems bem1 has had but I have a 2019 Rubicon with the Alpine system. I took my Jeep to a dealer to address my issues and contrary to what Jeep Cares said there was a update available. The update they did for bem1 didn't apply to my 2019. The update changed the UAQ software from 22.5 to 28.3. It's too early to tell if my problems have gone away. There are some changes to appearance on the screen as there is now a source button on the main screen and navigation map is different. Will keep reporting whether update was successful in fixing my issues.

Mine was updated last Friday. Supposedly it addressed both audio issues, but only time will tell. It also supposedly addresses a GPS Time issue that I never experienced or noticed. Since the update, ORP is not there at startup (along with some other apps) and appears after about a minute of operation. Also, now when I set my Guidance voice level, it always resets to 15 at startup.
