Hey all, just scored a 2024 Anvil Rubicon with Leather, Convenience and Hard top with 2.0 I call this minimalist to get all the bases covered.
My brother has a 2.0 24 Willys that we are using to do the Maine Jeep Jamboree in about 2 weeks.
Curious if anyone has verified the weight diff between a Turbo and a V6? I’m assuming the turbo is atleast 150 pounds lighter FYI I did eat drive a similar spec V6, it may be better off-road crawling but dang the response at half throttle was not impressive to the lower midrange of the turbo.

loving my new ride and looking forward to testing this thing as I should in the near future

I believe the turbo actually weighs a little more than the V6.
I would expect that to be the case...turbo motors are large packages and generally heavier than their size-up NA counterparts (i.e. the 3.5l Ecoboost is heavier than the 5.0 Coyote).

I'd think that their weights would be somewhat similar. More within the engine versus more outside.

Are you just asking out of curiosity? It's easy to weigh them (I've taken my JLURD to the CAT scales a couple times), but to do a real comparison you'd need two that were identically equipped.

I’d question the accuracy of that list. It’s got mistakes in it. The 3.0L diesel come with the 8HP75 transmission, not the 850RE transmission.

Nice find.

I find it odd that the weight decreases 4# between the 2.0 and 3.6 on the two door Rubicons, but increases 2# on the 4 door Rubicons.

Any deviation of options could easily have drastic impacts on those numbers.

I don't recall where it was but I remember reading something in a magazine that talked about the weights between the 2.0T and 3.6 v6 and all things being equal with regard to how each one was equipped they both weighed nearly the same.

How they're equipped, except for the powerplant, has to be same same in order to compare true weights. I even thought about trying to find what a replacement engine in both would weigh but generally they go by "shipped" weight not what just the weight of the motor is. Regardless, I'd be very surprised if there was 50lbs difference between the two and 50 lbs of static weight really isn't squat diddly.
