Madlad here necros a year-old thread just to troll.

The internet is an amazing place.
Really, if we wanted to be helpful and definitely not troll, we'd make sure to update this thread to let people know which engine options come with engine covers.

Interesting that after 3 years and 300 some votes, that both engines with automatics are basically dead even.
I know some clutches have issues, but I can't give up the manual.

oops! I guess I should start looking at dates instead of clicking everything and posting....

I blame the bottom of the forum section of "Similar threads", I just click those things. I click EVERYTHING, it's a wonder I don't have more pop ups and spyware on this laptop...
So long as you stay off those sketchy .ru sites promising "companionship" you should be fine.

The problem is the lack of low end torque and turbo lag is why its taking so long for the 2L to pass that slow v6

Just picked up a '23 Sahara with 2.0 to go along with my '22 Rubicon with the 3.6. Drove the 2.0 cross-country (1750 miles) and am hugely disappointed in the 2.0. The lack of throttle response between 1500 and 2000 RPMs on the highway is atrocious.

On a highway I would pick a 2.0 Turbo anyday. I bought my Jeep to off-road and yes just simple math the miles on road to the trail kill miles on the trails. Both engines are very good, but crawling rocks on tricky trails the 3.6 auto seems best and easiest to concentrate on the line. The 2.0 is definitely fine but my friends with it complain about turbo lag when moving at 3mph over rocks. To me it is simple - highway the 2.0 is king but in the rocks the 3.6. Now with new dual turbos or a super charger new game on. My buddy has a super charger on an FJ and he crushes my 3.6 on the highway but in the rocks even Stephen.

I’ve owNed a jeep with the 3.6 with manua, 2.0 auto, 3.6 etorque auto now. I wouldn’t go back to the 3.6 manual sorry not for me. I liked the 2.0 nice torque hated the sound. The 3.6 auto I really enjoy it, I have 4.56 gears and 35s and this motor has no problems going up hills acceleratin, definitely not enough of a difference over the 2.0 for me to miss it
