What's everyone's thoughts on the JB4 tuner? They claim some pretty serious gains and have dyno charts to back it up.

Can't find much about it on youtube as it relates to Wranglers. What would be your intended expected benefit?

Right, but then I asked specifically about a piggyback tuner. Then posted dyno graphs from a JB4 showing HP and Torque increases.

I generally am interested in hearing your opinion on this and your thoughts regarding the dyno graphs. I just don't want people who come along after me and read your post and disregard the JB4 without knowing why other than it's a waste of money.

@Redline Tuning I received the the quick lift system on my 2024 Rubicon with a slight problem and I made a modification you may or not be interested in.

While installing the hood mounting units using a 1/4 drive ratchet I could feel the threads starting to strip out even though I did not apply too much torque. So, not satisfied I removed both sides and came up with what I think was a better game plan.

Simply put I re tapped the backing piece to a 1/4 x 20 thread and used some left over Harley Davidson torx bits fasteners and washers. I applied blue Loctite to all fasteners and easily tightened without over tightening using a torx bit screwdriver.

Additionally I trimmed the weather stripping off at the end so as to not overlap the bracket and fasteners. In my opinion this is better than the fasteners you used with the kit and I am attaching a photo for your consideration.

Not meaning to step on anyone's toes but I think these are better for the kit.

a piggyback tuner

I've used piggyback tuners, and investigated the same for the 2.0T in my JLU.

From experience, I had guessed that any such plug-and-play fitments for the Jeep would do little more than faff about with the fueling and the boost, and little or nothing else, to deliver performance gains. My research confirmed this reality. I therefore decided that if was going to chase such gains, I'd eventually invest in a full tune via a modified ECU. This is what I'm currently keeping in mind.

Piggybacks have their place, and in isolation I've no complaints about the simple solution that they provide. I'm now just seeking to take a holistic approach, one that in my mind has a long-term and beneficial effect on the continued health of the powertrain.
