How much narrower do you think you need to be for the mirrors to be useful?
From what I notice while towing with my 2door vs my truck or previous 4dr, it's not a function of trailer width, it's just the overall short length of the Jeep. It places the trailer so much closer to your side view mirrors that they would need to be angled down a lot further in order to see the trailer wheels and keep a safe eye on them. Once I sell this truck, and until I get a new one, I am going to look for some additional mirrors that I can angle down at the trailer wheels to keep a better eye on them.

5x8 mid range hiker trailer woth 2in lift. About 1,400lbs. Barely feel it is there. Easy to maintain speeds, even on an incline, and I have 3.45 gears. Tows like a mini truck.

5x8 utility trailer. I’ve hauled mowers, motorcycles, and a Yamaha Rhino on it, as well a a 60” flail mower. With the flail I was pulling somewhere around 1500 lbs. 2.0 pulled it fine, no issues.

That looks like the ultimate off road camper for a JL that you can pull where 99.7% of the trailers can't go.

My Aliner is the expedition model with 14" wheels, but the wiring and gas lines run under the frame. I can take it where 75% of trailers can't go, but nothing like yours.

Just for some numbers, since I know lots of people consider fuel mileage, especially with RVs/Campers and general towing today.

2dr Willys with 2.5" lift and stock tires, I'm usually getting about 19mpg

Hooked up about an 800lb 6.5'x12' trailer, empty, dropped to about 16.5mpg

Loaded an 1800lb RZR, dropped again to about 14mpg.

I know we've been weighing gas prices for our motor home against renting cabins/AriBnBs lately, in case this info helps anyone.

Thanks I picked it specifically for my 2 door JL. Tried to find a balance between capability and weight. A lot of the extremely capable trailers out there are also extremely heavy.

I am gonna roll it as is and itll probably take me anywhere I intend to tow it. The 2inch lift allows me to fit bigger tires if I ever need to.

Trailer weight approx 450, Sidecar weight around 750.

Per the MSO document, the P-A-C Dual's empty weight is 550 lbs. Figure another 40 lbs. or so for your custom ramp carrier mod (same as mine) and that rounds up to 600 lbs. The sidecar weight of 750 is fairly accurate.

I figure ~1,300 lbs. loaded weight when pulling mine. It's a bit higher if I stuff the sidecar with camping gear in lieu of placing it in the Jeep.

Those are awesome. When I picked my trailer in AZ I got to check these out. The issue with most of their models is that you are over the tow rating of your 2 door.

The expedition 2.0 tongue weight is already over capacity and the when fully loaded youd also be over towing capacity.

Air bags could help with the tongue weight and if kept minimally loaded I guess you could right at/under 2,000lbs and I am sure the JL can tow it no issues.

The off-grid trailers have some suspension systems man. Ive never seen that on a trailer before, pretty insane.

Sweet! Which model is that?
I ordered it custom. It is based on a 5x8 mid-range with the following options added

2inch llift kit
Articulating hitch (max coupler)
3 roof rack bars
7 gallon road shower
Maxxfan
Trailer brakes
12V male plug for a portable power station (jackery).
11lb mounted propane.

And thats it. This is pretty much all you need to get started really. I love the flexibility of a portable station for electrical and use solar panels to charge, which honestly I havent really needed. The interior fits a nice queen mattress and the rear galley fits plenty of stuff.

With the 2inch lift I got way more clearance than the Jeep and could fit a much bigger tire if I ever wanted to, but I dont think itll need it.

This trailer can easily do any fire road, easy trail, "moderate" blue trails, etc... It is light enough the jeep can easily pull and has enough clearance it just follows the Jeep. It has a 3500lb axle so it is overbuilt and handles offroad no problem.

This trailer is not designed for Rubicon level stuff. But Id never tow anything on a lvl 7 and up trail. Thatll damage any trailer and could put you and your Jeep into very unsafe situations.
