Wanting to invest in a good torque wrench to use whenever I rotate my wheels/tires and check some different suspension components on my new 2020 JLRU when it arrives. Any recommendations on specific brands or if there is a specific torque poundage range that would cover most of what I would use it for on my JL? Thank you!

Tekton is hard to beat for the money.

For drain valve and oil filter cap:

TEKTON 24330 3/8-Inch Drive Click... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FMPKAD0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

For lugs:

TEKTON 24335 1/2-Inch Drive Click... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C5ZL0RU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

And to go with both:

TEKTON 1/2-Inch Drive Socket Set,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYZ2IJ5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

(Plus a 1/2” to 3/8” adapter for use with the smaller torque wrench. I just picked up a cheap one from Harbor Freight.)

I have the below which has been fine. Goes up to 150lbs which seems like overkill.

Coincidentally enough I've randomly seen this exact one in a couple of my buddies garages.

That’s the one I bought, based on guidance here.

I’ve no way to verify accuracy, but I can verify consistency. It is repeatable.

Very solid feel and action.

I’m happy with it.

I picked up a Tekton 1/2” Torque Wrench from Tractor Supply last year and I love it. I use it all the time for my wheels.

Thank you!!!
Same here... I also have & I think you'll like it… you'll need about 130 for the lugs, but I'm not sure about the specific suspension components you want to cover.

I use the one from Harbor Freight; I believe the brand is Pittsburgh. It seems to work okay and my wheels haven't fallen off yet, so that's good...

The Tekton stuff is incredible for the price. I have 4 of their torque wrenches along with a bunch of their other tools. Their warranty is hands down the best around, just send then a picture of the room and they send you a new one. No need to send then the broken/defective tool. I haven't needed the warranty but asked the owner how it works.

I can’t get mine from HF to click at 130. I feel like I’m going to snap the lug off. It clicks up to 60, or so. Returned it for a second one and same thing.
Maybe it’s me...

Mine does click at 130. Make sure you set it correctly. Those tiny indentations for the setting are very hard to read. Maybe have another set of eyes look at it. Come to think of it, maybe mine is also set wrong! :bandit:

I also have this setup. Haven’t needed a 250lb one yet. But I’ll worry about that when I need it. This guy works great. But don’t forget you need to store it in the zero setting when finished
