10 years ago I bought all the 28 volt series Milwaukee tools. Impact, saw and sawzall are great. Batteries are too expensive. The drill is too heavy for many uses and will about break your wrist if whatever you’re drilling catches. I would definitely go 18 volt for size. Even the impact won’t touch the lug nuts on my bus. If any of this helps...
Uh, cordless impact technology has bounded over leaps and bounds while taking huge leaps and giant strides over large distances with GIANT leaps and bounds.

The M18 2767 is a FAR cry from the M28 impact wrench of old. The 2767 is as powerful as any pneumatic 1/2" gun out there

And yeah, I've still got a LOT of V28/M28 tools. But I did finally get rid of the drill because it's way too bulky compared to a modern 2804 or 2902. But the Sawzall and portaband are great, although Milwaukee is ignoring battery technology for the M28 line so right now M18 is where it's at.

An M28 battery will run you $100+ but a 5.0ah M18 will happily power an impact wrench at $60 on eBay all day long

Here's the old V28 impact next to an M18 2767 with optional protective boot.

V28: huge, couple hundred foot lbs
2767: not as huge (but still way bigger than pneumatic), 1400 ft lbs

The V28 drill was later at least redesigned as an M28 (same batteries), 0726-20

It's way more reasonable than the V28 of old in terms of length, and comes with an aux handle to prevent aforementioned wrist damage.

I use it on my tube notcher because it's actually more torquey being brushed than Fuel (brushless) counterparts
