I have both safety groups and they work flawlessly. The back up warning and blind spot warning are particularly useful. Truth be told, I purchased the packages with my eye on the emergency front collision braking, but haven't (thank goodness) had it kick in yet. It seems like there are two camps: those, like me, how have had 100% good luck - and - those who report that the system is buggy in some way. In many of the latter cases it seems like they only bought the option because it was on an existing vehicle off-the-lot. So...they may have gone into it with some lack of enthusiasm.

If the internet existed in 1990, you'd read posts from owners telling you that antilock brakes are not worth it. :)

THIS is why you want it:

I find the systems in my wife's Forester to be insufferable. I've gotten fairly good at predicting when it will slam on the brakes for me prematurely because it thinks I'm coming in too hot, so I can dodge that. But both that and the lane correction are ridiculously sensitive, and the adaptive cruise control bothers me for a whole different reason - if I'm in the fast lane and a driver pulls out in front of me, I'm then stuck going whatever speed that goober dictates.

So no, not worth it, and frankly glad mine didn't come with it.

My current Jeep doesn't have it. I never thought I'd have a use for it, sounded silly to me. I know how to drive. Then I got a WL loaner when my JL was at the dealer for a battery issue. I tried out the adaptive cruise and was instantly sold. When I'm on the highway, I drive in a relaxed manner and adaptive cruise pretty much takes over my exact same habits so now I can almost just sit there and steer.

I ordered it without question on my '22 JLUR.

I have it on my 2021. 3.5 inch lift and 37 and it still works great. I use the acc the most and don’t really use the auto high beams. I would 100% buy this again. 15,000 miles of trips and use it every time. You can’t add it after so buy once cry once. It has also stopped me once from rear ending my buddies when we had 100 jeeps in a row going to donate toys.

Another issue is how the brake lights are designed to work with this tech; if brake lights are not activated when the car is slowing you down it could cause some confusion to those behind you, (not sure how the JEEP system works in this regard). I have also seen some of these systems being too sensitive and brake when you would rather it didn't. Overall, I think the good outweighs the bad, but it's no slam-dunk, and there are some negatives, and a learning curve. I would be interested in hearing from those that actually have the latest itineration. I have also had my front radar get deactivated by snow, btw.
If the cruise control applies the brakes to slow the vehicle the brake lights will come on. This happens with regular cruise or the adaptive. If cruise simply lets off the gas, then no lights. Really no different than any normal vehicle or driving situation.

I know the version in my 21 JLU 80th is better than what is in my 15 WK2. Not drastically, but noticeable to a discerning individual.

I'm not sure what adaptive cruise has to do with that. You're still in control.

There's a specific g force at which point manufacturers have agreed to turn on the brake lights.

I have both safety packages on my present Jeep. I have a new build on order in which I left the advance safety out. I don’t really use cruise that much , I don’t like the sudden alert ? I got a few times from the collision sensor, in my opinion was a false alarm . I like controlling my own high beams & with the led package is hardly needed imo. I did keep the blind side & parking sensor package.

For me, the value isn't there.

I rarely use cruise control. I'm in my late 40s and I doubt I've used cruise control more than 100 times in my life. Even on long road trips (6+ hours) from AZ to California, I still don't use it. i also live in a densely populated area of Phoenix and rarely have an opportunity to even use my high beams. I won't be including it when I order a Wrangler next month.

I made a similar thread about a month ago. I had an opportunity to get a new High Altitude on the lot that had everything but the advanced safety group or order what I wanted with the advanced safety group. Ended up ordering, I'd rather wait a few months and get everything I wanted rather than being without it. My girlfriend has it in her Subaru and while I didn't like ACC at first, after a while I started getting used to it, and my current Lexus doesn't have ACC, recently I've had several times where I recognized how nice it would have been to have it. I say go for it.

Not in the Subaru. Once it detects a vehicle in front of you, it will automatically scale down to about .5mph under their speed. Then increase back up to your set mph once the vehicle ahead gets some distance, then decrease once it sees it again, ad infinitum. The dealer told her to leave it at that set distance, so there it stays. Maybe it's different in a Jeep though.

Isn't that EXACTLY how it's supposed to work? That's the "adaptive" part. Otherwise it would just be plain old cruise control.

I've been travelling a lot and keep getting rental cars with ACC. Some companies do it better than others, but for the most part I wish I had it. Definitely something I'd look for on my next jeep.

Hyundai with its lane correction is the best I've driven. The car will literally drive itself. A Subaru Legacy was the wost. I had a Durango and didn't think the ACC was too bad at all.

Without ACC you'd either do something similar or go around them. Same with or without as far as I can tell.

...And? The title of the topic is "Thoughts on Advanced Safety Group", so I offered them. Until it can effectively match other vehicles speeds, I'm not interested.

If I'm in the left, I'm passing traffic going at least 5mph under my speed, so going around isn't really an option. I'm going to match their speed until they take the hint and get back over, not waffle back and forth like ACC tends to.
