So, I read through a good portion of the seemingly 50 threads and 5,000 post on the Tazer JL and I’m sure most if not all of these are answered somewhere…but

Questions I would appreciate help with:
  • Marry/Unmarry: does the left arrow need to be depressed the whole time it's being married/unmarried?
    • After unmarry, just start and turn off the Jeep a few times to ensure it’s unmarried?
  • Changing tire size: I know I’ll need to check various speeds with an app, but do I start with setting it to the actual tire size or the mounted tire size?
    • I’d like to get this as close as possible because…
  • I have a manual: per the instructions I need to select the Full Reboot, but after I start it the 2nd time it says to increase acceleration in 6th gear for 30 seconds up to 80mph.
    • Is as simple as go for a drive, do the deal then come back and do the two sleep cycles?
    • Guessing yes, but I don’t want to mess it up or…get stranded 15 minutes away on the Interstate
  • Full Reboot: Can multiple setting be changed then one Full Reboot or does each change require a Full Reboot?
  • Partial Reboot: When is a Partial Reboot needed?
  • No Dead Battery Please: Is the power draw relevant?
    • There are times where my Jeep isn’t driven for multiple days and once in a while, a week to two when traveling
I’ve not bought one yet and was looking at the other one because it appears to have a simple phone like interface. Clearly though, the Tazer has a larger following with a LOT of happy customers.

I could bug Joe with these, but I see a few folks here are clearly experts with this device and could knock out these questions.

Thanks dealing with my litany of questions and fear of the unknown...at least to me :like:

and another thing...Not all of us are experts on 3 Letter acronyms, so what is SRT in "Dedicated DRL, SRT DRL’s, Turns, Fogs, Hi beams or Low beams". I assume that DRL is Daytime Running Lights and not Damn Random Letters....

I’ve noticed ever now and then my eas turns itself off.

I have it set to disable and when I restart the Jeep it will be back on. Had happened three times since last update.

I just updated to 11.1.0, when installed in JL it says 11.0.9......we will see what happens.
I had issues with my radio/nav. The unit had 11.0.6 installed when I received it.
Nav would not work and get stuck on the screen, then if you had radio on, you couldn't get any of the other screens to work.

When I did the autoupdate it also said 11.1, but I did it in manual as the site states that 11.08 is the latest..Confusine for an old man......

I am still using 11.03 which is what my taser came with last fall. It’s always work perfectly! And it does everything I wanted to do.

Just received my Tazer Mini the other day. Is it common for the PC not to show the device when you connect it with the USB cable?

The led’s on the Tazer light up, I just don’t see the device when I have Windows explorer open which seems odd since both my Flashcal and Diablo InTune will display there when plugged in.

I am probably going to try and go back an update. I am using the most current and my ESS has not disabled a few times now. It is basically just like factory. I stop and it surprises me by shutt6off, I start off again and push the button to disable but once I stop at my destination and start her up to leave/continue she is back to factory default

I had this happen a few times. I wiggle the Tazer around a bit to make sure it's seated properly. It may come loose every so often.

My Tazer JL Mini for my 2018 JLU Sport S showed up today, after reading thru this thread and seeing some of the trouble people were having with the connectors I expected them to put up a fight but to my surprise I got lucky and they came right out. I used a piece of velcro and stuck it to the SWG. I also plugged in the USB cable and secured it so it's there when I need it.

Everything set up smoothly and was navigating the menus fairly well. I found out the turn cam works with the 7" radio even though it said 8.4".

ESS is disabled each time I start up, and I have my fog lights not dropping out when high beams come on, did that on my JK so I was happy it was in this.

I put in Oracle Switchback led for the turn signals and they work fine, no warnings or hyper flash so I don't plan on changing the settings to led in the tazer.

One last this, I connected this to my pc to check for the latest update which said it was 11.1.0 but on the EVIC it showed up as 11.0.9

Overall I am very happy and definitely would recommend this product.
