I believe clamp meters only work for alternating current. For DC, you need to do an in-line measurement or measure the voltage drop across a known resistance

The one I linked definitely does DC, too. The cheaper ones say AC, only.

Anyway, I’ll report back here if I buy it!

Ah, apparently there is such an animal. It uses Hall effect to measure DC current.

So to be clear a tazer needs to be left inplace all the time it is not like a procal from aev? And this may be a dumb question but when i went to a 315 70 tire and checked my speedometer against a speedometer app they match identically . How is that possible without changing the computer?

No the Tazer only has to be plugged in to use the live features and there are some differences between 11.07 and 11.07 but if you don’t need any of the live features you can marry the Tazer do your vehicle changes and then unplug it from the OBDII port and put it in the box, you do have to leave it married though as if you unmarry it all goes back to stock

I would assume all versions of the Tazer are the same using the vehicle settings then unplugging

If you unmarry the Tazer it will right back all the original factory settings, any vehicle settings do not require the Tazer or bypass module to be plugged in to work it’s only the live settings that require it to be plugged in so in your case if you change tire size and say readjust your TPMS limits you can just unplug the Tazer and put it in a box and not worry about it but when going in for service even an oil change I would recommend you unmarry the Tazer to put it all back to factory and also remove the SGW bypass module and plug the two connectors back in

I dont see the back up camera coming on with the turn signal. I read about that in another thread. Is that in an update or is it just not listed? That would be the main reason i would buy one.

I have a jlus and bought a tazer lite and hooked it up last week to adjust for going to 315/70/17 tires. It worked well until I swapped in jlur axles on Saturday and changed gearing in the tazer to 4.10. Now, I have the A with a circle around it(Auto stop start) alert that keeps annoyingly popping up. I rebooted and unmarried and tried to redo it and it popped up again. I tried to clear CLU's and it's not helping. I've spent over am hour texting with the owner/developer of Z automotive trying to fix it. It's a shame you cant call them to solve issues. He seems to have no solution and is claiming my batteries may be low. I've driven 3 hrs today and the alert is still there. I have a friend who also struggled with this when regearing. I'm considering trying a flash cal.

My assumption and just an assumption, I’m betting it has nothing to do with having the Tazer installed, changing either tire size or gearing ratios would not have anything to do with ESS

If you go to menu choice 6# on the EVIC display what does it say, it should give you a reason for ESS not being ready, I personally would have unmarried the Tazer and removed it and then did the axle swap and regear to see if it all worked with no goofy messages then if all was well I would have then married the Tazer to the JL and changed one of this items at a time and checked for correct operation after each change.

The reason I say this is I put on larger tires and different wheels and also did a lift and the TPMS system did not work correctly but being hardheaded I married the Tazer to my JL and started making changes trying to clear my TPMS issues and they kept haunting me so I was very quick to blame the Tazer but in the end I removed the Tazer then addressed the TPMS issue until it was corrected and then remarried the Tazer and all was good.
