The visors have come down quite a bit in price...I just picked up a drivers one for $90 and a Passenger for about $25. If they don't last I will be utilizing the suggestions on here for reinforcement.

Question I have for anyone with a 2018 JL that replaced their passenger visor - did your new one come with an additional plastic spike on the bracket by the screws? My original one does not have that and I noticed in some that are being sold on ebay that the spike looks to have been cut or broken off.

where did you pick them up, if you don't mind me asking? I have to replace the driver side and I'm willing to pay a little extra for another shot at plug and play. Plus I'll have a spare if it breaks again and I'll be able to do the replacement listed on here.

I just had mine done but I had the dealer do it under warranty, so I never saw it.

I got mine at www.moparpartsgiant.com The only issue I had with them is the picture for each of the visor choices was the same so you have to rely on knowing the right part number.

I am having the same visor problem on my 2018 JL. Stopped by the dealer tonight, before looking here and finding this thread. The dealer looked up to see what the fix would and told me my only option was to buy a whole new driver's side visor, Part # 6BR75TX7AK, for an eye opening $136.96. Just on a whim, i went to the website that was suggested here, moparpartsgiant.com, I looked up that part number, $19.40. I will be doing the fix i saw here, the finished product looks much sturdier than the factory replacement.

Frankly, it is a waste to buy the whole new visor. Pull out what you have, do the fix I described on here. Several months now and it still holds strong...

My just broke as well.

I just used a dermal and shaved the plastic back as above post. I 3d printed an 8mm split collar with 3mm nut and screw. No need to de-pin anything. Visor works fine and I can make unlimited parts if my 3d collar fails. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2940715

Nice!
Bet there's plenty of things you've thought about improvising for your JL and many other uses. Is that your own 3d printer or do you work w/ them?

Yes I have my own 3D printer. It’s very useful. I needed a ball mount for my Radio and mic so I printed one, The inner fender clips that bolt on are 3D printed. The go pro mount is 3D printed.

Very cool, I'm sure you could make some decent side money helping fellow Jeepers :)

Performed the fixx this past weekend and it worked like a charm. I used an oscillating tool with a narrow blade to remove all the necessary plastic, ordered the clips from Amazon, short of destroying the metal inserts in the plug, everything shown here worked perfectly. Thank you all for the information.

How do you like that Beofeng radio? I have been watching a couple of those but would like to handle one or get an opinion from an owner before i pulled the trigger.

For the days I go out and no one has a CB it’s a great alternative. They are very reasonable to buy and work great. As you can see in the pic I got the Optional Mic and 3D printed a mount. The range is more than I have ever needed. If your very tech savvy there is a gazillion programming options you can do from your computer.
