I posted this in the general forum . But this is what I did to get rid of mine. Had the wobble issue when going over expansion joints or any bumps, also had drivability issue with the jeep wandering and poor handling. Brought my car to 4x4 located in lake hopactong and spoke to the owner Andrew. He checked over my vehicle and found my tires out of balance and my alignment way off!! I also had him install the teraflex 2.1 non adjustable steering stabilizer and rusty's track bar support. Jeep rides amazing with zero issues. It tracks straight and feels like a better than new vehicle

I saw that someone mentioned they noticed theirs was worse when cold. I have experienced the same thing. I take same what home from work each day and the road I take has terrible expansion joints. Noticed once it got cold I had the wobble when going over them at around 45-50 mph. Seems like now that it has warmed back up it is not as bad or even non existent. I put a new Fox SS on yesterday so will be curious to see if it makes a difference. Supposed to get cold again, so will be a good test.
Funny, but I couldn’t help but think that expansion joints contract in colder weather creating a bigger gap, and expand in the hotter weather closing the gap. I wonder if this is also a contributing factor?

I cannot quite see the date code (I too have had a wobble) but going fairly slow - 30 mph or so. Tried to stick a camera in there to read it but there is something in the way...grrrrr I guess the dealer can hoist it and have a look.

I had a hard time at first trying to get a pic of my date code too almost 2 weeks ago. First I crawled underneath and shot upward - not good. Best access and this shot ended up being from the passenger wheel well shooting downward with a light shining up from the garage floor.

#092 Note the long scratches next to the X documenting damaged unit.

I had the same issue. JLUR Mopar lift w 38,s. Already had added RK adjustable track bars. Wobbled showed up at 4,000 miles/1500 after lift and tires installed. Rechecked all front end/ball joint bolts tour ge setting and no change still wobbled. Installed Falcon 2.2 ran on medium and wobble is all gone drives great. I love my jeep!

UPDATE
I received a text from Ralph, service manager, today that my Sahara was ready. This was day 12 including drop off day. The drive home went well, definitely better than when I brought it in, but it was only 20 miles back.
Props to Szott Jeep all around. Excellent communication from Ralph throughout the 12 days. The loaner 2 door manual was fun to drive, but glad I’ve got an automatic.
They let me take a pic of the old part, with the scratches now rusting. They have to send the part back to Jeep.
Thanks also to Darlene @JeepCares for her help and oversight.

Mine got a little scratched up off roading, but it is X172 and falls within the range. Do you think Jeep will still replace mine?

I sent my Jeep I in this early morning and the service department just called and said that the mechanic can't replicate the problem. I told them about the service bulletin because I have a bad steering stabilizer according to the stamped number and pm'd @JeepCares . Nothing

Total waste of a day off.

I saw a video posted by Lite Brite on You Tube where they got video of their Death Wobble. I only bring this up because it appears to be much different than Death Wobble I’ve seen in the JK videos. The axel on the JL was not oscillating back and forth like most Death Wobble, it appears to be in the steering linkage. I will be interested is seeing how they fix their DW issues. I thought I would throw this out there for anyone that is trying to fix their own issues.

I’m going on three days with no DW and have my finger crossed. I adjusted my caster to just over 6 degrees and re-tourqued my RK trackbar and it went away. My wife and I took turns hitting some rough railroad tracks at 40mph Sunday and couldn’t induce DW. We are optimistically hopeful. We love our Jeep and are will to fix it ourself if we can find a solution.

Had the stabilizer replaced. Two weeks later DW happened again. Took the car back to dealer and had a rental for a week until they had me exchange that for a dealer car. The reason? Estimated date for the new part is in April 2019!

This sucks. We don’t even have 5k miles yet.

Just got it again today. It was so bad I had to slow down on the freeway from 65 to 30 to get it to stop wobbling. My wife was like ā€œno way I am driving that Jeep!ā€

Took it back to the dealer that ā€œchecked it all outā€ a few weeks ago and pronounced it fine. @JeepCares - this is a REAL issue.

I am not talking about a shimmy, i am talking about a true death wobble they feels like the front of the Jeep will break if you don’t slow down to stop it.

Which new part is back ordered until April 2019?
