It’s been two weeks since I set my castor to 6 degrees. Even though this did help at first (corrected about 80% of my shimmy), I’m pretty sure the bump steer is getting worse. It will be interesting to see what lifebrite comes up with.

What part are they referring to?
Which new part is back ordered until April 2019?
Hi wooten1138,
I understand your frustration. Please send us a private message so we can look into this a bit further for possible parts escalation.

Stabilizer/damper. Received an unexpected call yesterday that the Jeep was ready. Not sure why the estimate said April. The manager did tell us that was unlikely but there’s no way any of us expected it to be received and then installed before end of the month.

Anybody with a 2019 experiencing the wandering? I picked mine up on Friday from the dealer, 55 miles south on the freeway, and when I got home I was exhausted... the effort to keep it in one lane was horrendous.

I’m taking it in to the dealership tomorrow and the service writer claimed to have no knowledge of any JL steering issues. After reading this entire thread, I’m now horrified how this is going to play out.

FYI, 2019 JLUR... stock/ not lifted.

I thought you said the steering stabilizer was already replaced and it didn't fix it?

Had the stabilizer replaced. Two weeks later DW happened again. Took the car back to dealer and had a rental for a week until they had me exchange that for a dealer car. The reason? Estimated date for the new part is in April 2019!

This sucks. We don’t even have 5k miles yet.

Did the replacement stabilizer help your situation? I've had mine replaced and had the wobble in the way home from the dealer. It's back to about where it was now.

Cross posted: Tomorrow is day 21 of my JL Sahara being at the dealership service center. According to service, the part they need to fix my wobble is backordered until 12/19. I am not a technical Jeep person so half the things many of you are talking about and doing to your Jeeps to fix your problems goes way over my head. Anyway, the wobble isn’t the only issue I have. A few weeks ago, while driving on an exit ramp, I lost the steering to my Jeep and nearly ran into the guardrail. I’m sure Jeep will try to blame this on driver error. However, there are a few flaws with that thinking. 1- I was driving slowly around the helix because it was raining 2- it was the front end that went out of control and not the back 3- I stopped the car before I could hit the guardrail and when I started moving again the car continued driving towards the guardrail even though I was turning the wheel 4 - I put the car in park and turned it off. I restarted the car, put it in drive and was able to steer it again. I could have been hit from behind by someone else exiting so I consider myself lucky there. My dealership won’t even consider looking into my steering issue until they fix the wobble because they think the 2 are related. I am now driving a rental. It’s a 2019 2dr Wrangler sport. My JL never drove as confidently as this 2dr sport. I am not sure if it’s because the 2dr sport has a shorter wheelbase and handles better because of this. I need serious help here. What is a STAR report and how do I expedite the service on my Jeep? Any information from anyone is appreciated.

I had the same issue going around a bend at slow speed ! The jeep tracked straight even tho I was turning the wheel. But I had the vehicle looked at from an independent shop that works mostly on jeep and they found that my tires were out of balance and also my alignment was off alot. I also added the steering stabilizer by falcon. The jeep so far drives better than new but only time will tell

Same thing happened here. They replaced it with a second Mopar stabilizer (on my third one - including the original) and it's a little better, but already getting worse. Luckily the dealer is replacing it with the Falcon 2.2. They have been very reasonable to work with, but the whole situation is a bit frustrating.

I am currently driving a 2019 2dr sport as a rental because my 2018 JLUR is in the shop (day 22) waiting for the stabilizer part. Obviously the 19 is stock. The 2019 seems much more steady than my 2018. I’m unsure if it’s because it’s a 2dr with a shorter wheel base or because it’s a 2019. I don’t think my 18 ever drove as well to be honest.

The longer wheel base 4 door has better road manners than the 2 door. The longer wheel base makes it more stable/less twitchy.

Had an appointment this moring for the shimmy. I originally was just going to put on the Tereflex Falcon Nexus myself, but decided I wanted to get it on FCA record that I had the shimmy, so I decided to take it in for service and let them replace the OE first.

Anyway, I pulled in this morning and the service tech told me they don't even need to look at the Jeep, they are just going to order the steering stabilizer. Seems now Jeep has a wholesale replacement on the steering stabilizer if a customer complains of the shimmy, no matter what the date codes are on the part.

So I was told backorder until January, we shall see. I'll let them replace the OE first, then I'll do the swap to the Nexus.

This was exactly my situation on Wednesday. They didn’t test drive or debate. They literally just put me in the queue for parts and claimed December 21st and they would call me for an appointment when it arrives.

Same here, but part showed up after about 2 weeks for me. Dropping her off at the dealer in an hour for stabilized and steering pump. Then Ill install my Nexus 2.2 when it gets warmer out.
